It's not about showing cuteness, sexiness, manliness or heartbreaks. It sends message that goes straight to everyone's heart. A message for everyone to wake up and make a difference for the society. I salute BAP for that.

Here's what you need to know if you're new to them: Debuted in 2012 with Warrior which is considered to be one of the best boy group debuts ever alongside SHINee's Replay. Their name stands for Best, Absolute, Perfect. They went through a long hiatus around 2014-2015 after they filed a lawsuit against TS for their "slave contracts." A lot of fans left because of that, but you see, many of us still stayed. :) They had a comeback late 2015 with Young Wild and Free after a settlement with the company and now they're back to slay us all with Wake Me Up. Members: Yongguk (90 liner) - Black, wavy hair in the MV. The leader and main rapper. Super deep voice. Genius lyricist. He suffered from panic disorder but now he's back so please give him lots of support! Himchan (90 liner) - Sexy red hair in the MV. The visual and mama of the group. Also with the deep vocals. He thinks he's fat so please tell him that he's not and that he's gorgeous no matter what. Daehyun (93 liner) - Brown hair in the MV. Visucal = Visual + Vocal (main). Handsome face and powerful vocals. Crazy high notes! My bias wrecker. Very noisy. From Busan. One half of my ultimate ship, DaeJae. Youngjae (94 liner) - Black, straight hair in the MV. Lead vocal. My bias. Seriously underrated vocals and visual so please give him more love! A smarty pants. Other half of DaeJae. Jongup (95 liner) - With blond highlights in the MV. Main dancer and subvocal. Also very underrated. His vocals improved so much! He's kind of an awkward alien but we love him anyway. Zelo (96 liner) - Pinkish silver hair in the MV. The one who twirled like a tornado. Lead dancer and also a rapper. Giant maknae, tallest one in the group despite being the youngest. Known for his LTE rap. Babyz/Warriorz, please feel free to add more info and to the new fans, feel free to ask questions. Welcome to the fandom!

After lawsuit he hold more creative control over BAP releases and member participation is getting higher on each comeback. Zelo and Jongup (maknae line) also choreographer of BAP. Other than that BAP member looked up to Leader and aim to become better artist. Jong Up wrote a Song called "now" that included within B track of Noir full album. Zelo Write his own rap and co write This song. Dehyun doing some composing and writing for his own unreleased project (wich from the teaser quite promising)

One day all 6 of you will shine again because you are meant to be together with us. As far as my understanding, I will list what I have learnt from this MV. It explores many societal issues, which is one of the rarest subjects of MV's these days. 1) The first girl is one that is battling with self-love, she can't appreciate herself for who she is, and she hates herself for who she is. Society's pressures to be pretty, perfect, skinny, etc. really get to most people, and this girl is an example of them. This is also one of the reasons for high suicide rate. 2) The male who waves his arms about with a smile on his face is meant to represent the racism side of this MV. When the lights go out, gun fires fly out of his hands, representing that he is labelled by society as a terrorist, and the many people on the bed, floor, etc. are his many "victims". 3) The third girl is a young girl that seems to battling with depression, and also one that takes pills and medicine regularly which is most probably why she looks as if she's about to faint. 4) The male who looks at himself in the mirror is closely linked to the girl at the beginning. However, he is not only battling with his self-worth, but racism as well. This may also be the reason he drowns himself in the bathtub. 5) The female who is cutting up all the food is what I believe to be the representation of anorexia or eating disorders. The maggot is the metaphor that represents this. The maggot is the metaphor for anorexia, very cleverly crafted. Anorexic people are usually hesitant or even scared to touch food because they're afraid to gain "weight", which is probably why she drops her chopsticks in fear. Not only that, but maggots are pretty gross as well, so I would probably react the same. I think that's everyone mentioned/seen in this music video. I think the message of the repetition of "wake me up", is for us. Waking up and looking at everyone, the world around us and realising that people struggle with all sorts of problems. I'm proud of B.A.P for being so open about something like this because it's not every day you get this type of MV. I also love the song. I'm loving the new sound, it suits them incredibly.

The tattoo under Daehyun's eye saying "Do what you love" hits really hard considering all they've been through and all he's been through as a person. The tattoo he has on his wrist saying "HOLD" because of the lawsuit they had and how he wanted fans to "hold on" and wait for them but also "hold my hand" because he was going through such a hard time. The fact that he turned to alcohol for a time because he was so stressed and depressed he couldn't handle it.. And the fact that after all they went through he updates his Instagram and Twitter constantly with what's happening in B.A.P because all he wants to do is connect with his fans and because he loves what he does so much and babies and this group and this music and singing is just everything to him. I can /always/ feel the emotions in his voice, no singer has ever made me emotional every single time they sing until Jung Daehyun because you can feel everything and you know how much this means to him and how much /we/ mean to him as a community. This is such a powerful and important video. I can't wait to see them again this April, to touch his hand and tell him thank you. I can't wait. B.A.P gives me life. Jung Daehyun gives me life.

This is what B.A.P said about their diverse cast ❤️❤️ Daehyun : Every time whe shoot a MV we have meetings with the producers who help us create them and we put together all our ideas. Everything from the individual shots to the casting of everyone who will appear. We come together and put together our ideas and then we put in all into a final product. But most important thing is that our ideas have changed, and that helped shape how we felt towards the MV and how we wanted it directed. Initially the plan was to use a Korean cast but after the members got together and put in our thoughts, we wanted to go with a more diverse cast to show that we have an accurate representation of our society today. Not just of in Korea or America, but all over the world. We wanted to express that through our MV. Himchan : It was never really something for us that we wanted to do, just stick to a Korean cast because we are Korean. We wanted to represent every part of the world and pay hommage to the fans who've come out to support us.

It is the first time I went through all the comments and actually enjoy reading them. TBH, most other Kpop MV comments are just "xxx is hot" or "I'm here to support xxx", they have many views and comments, but I wont remember for 3 mins. But everytime under B.A.P's MV, I see people really start to talk about some issues in society and our lives, there is a close and strong connection going on, like this music really reflects everyone's inside world, all the "bad things" are no longer "too shame to talk about". I think B.A.P truly achieve their goal--to make people start to think and begin to realize they should change/do something. That's actually what music about: to Introspect yourself, and change the world. B.A.P did it, they should be proud.

This is the reason why I stan B.A.P. They do not only care about the looks and the talents(singing and dancing), but also the message that they want to express to the audience. Kpop fans look up to idols, so idols should set a good example to them. But instead, fans are getting more self conscious because of how beautiful, skinny, and talented these people are. What I've noticed with B.A.P and BABYz is that they're focusing more on what's happening in the society. B.A.P spreads the word through their songs, while BABYz do the act by donating or doing charity works. In conclusion, they've already achieved the true meaning of being an idol as well as being a fan. I hope that B.A.P will continue to inspire more people. :)

Estefanie Ong I agree with everything you said, but I want to focus on the image part. It's SO true! As the whole world constantly moves more and more towards the egocentric, "beauty is everything" way, which is simply awful, I myself too have noticed a change among kpop fans let's say in the span of 5-6 years. As the idols get more and more "perfect", go on even more extreme diets and weigh scary little, yes even "for an Asian". I am not saying dieting is always unhealthy or bad, but unfortunately especially in the idol business, it sadly often is this, and then even more "ordinary" people get the craze and pressure to do the same. Fans, and others, admire how idols look and want to be similar, admire even their simply crazy diets and the twisted beauty and double standards of society. All this leads to even more depression, eating disorders and more. I am talking as a person who suffers from anorexia, and I want people to realize, being TOO skinny IS DANGEROUS and it DORS NOT bring happiness. I'm not promoting anything else than a normal, healthy weight. Everyone has their own, so some people weigh less than others and still are healthy, but there's a difference between that and being dangerously underweight. One's value or anything else doesn't depend on one's weight, face, one's money, not anything else but the "inner"; how one treats people, how one wants to be treated, how one views the world and how one wants to make a change for the better and help the ones in need. Share from their own. How one's thankful for what they have and remember to appreciate it everyday. Of course no one's perfect, everyone has days when everything fucking sucks, but then the next morning comes, and you can start fresh. I'm so glad B.A.P (and some othet artists) want to make a change and use their influence as loved, admired, well-known people to do the best they can through amazing music. Sorry for this super long post but I had to vent a bit

I'm reading a lot of comments from fans that didn't know about B.A.P before Wake Me Up. Some of you guys even apologise for not knowing B.A.P before they came back this month. I just want you to know you don't have to apologise for not knowing them before. What's important is that you know them now and that you can support them just like the BABY fandom does. I've been a BABY since B.A.P debuted and I've always loved their music. The hiatus moment was like hell for the boys and for us fans. But knowing that there are fans from other fandoms that are starting to like B.A.P makes me so happy and relieved that maybe our fandom can go back to what it used to be. Let's keep supporting the boys!
@alexandraferreira9857 жыл бұрын
Leon Toledo I totally agree with you... Although I like their softer songs (I mean who doesn't 😍), their uniqueness is only displayed in songs like Wake Me Up, songs where they want to share a specific message. Let's keep supporting our boys, because they definitely deserve it!
@lauri8107 жыл бұрын
I just hope they keep doing those concepts to be honest. I absolutely love their album Carnival. Not many groups can give me such happy and positive vibes as B.A.P did with that album. They also felt the happiest performing those songs. I feel like I am the only one who like their happy and dark concepts equally. At this point, people just want to complain. If they do happy concepts, people complain because they miss the "old B.A.P" (which doesn't make sense because the "old B.A.P" also have bright concepts) and if they keep with the dark concept people would also complain that they only do the same style over and over again. They didn't do that bad with Feel So Good. Korea loves these kind of songs (Crash and Stop It did well there) and internationally the concept is not that popular but Feel So Good on KZbin is the B.A.P MV with most likes and views from 2016, so that means more people have been listening to it. It is quite annoying. B.A.P is known for their versatility. If someone doesn't like a song, they have tons of other songs that have different genres and vibes that they can listen to. B.A.P can't just do songs about serious issues all the time. They need to get inspirations and they need to clear their minds once in a while. I just hope they continue doing what they do, all kind of genres and styles because that is something that makes them grow as artists, and I personally love all their songs no matter what concept they have. Some people are really missing some good just because they judge too soon because of the concept. And not only with B.A.P but with other groups as well and I honestly feel bad for that kind of people, they are missing out some good music.
@alexandraferreira9857 жыл бұрын
lauri810 I never meant to say that they should stop doing happier and softer songs. I love those songs too. What I meant is that songs like Wake Me Up really set them apart from the other groups, which is a good thing to increase the fandom and the number of people who support them.
@mirellaalbert7 жыл бұрын
I think that there are just 2 types of kpop fans, older ones (before their hiatus) who know about them even if they are not Babys, and newer ones of kpop (during and after their hiatus), who didn't hear their songs and B.A.P. are kind of nugu band (in such a heavy competition of boy bands, their image as promotions is not as strong as others). So when the newer ones have the chance to hear a B.A.P. song they wonder why they weren't on their radar and apologize. It is ok, it is never too late to enjoy a meaningful song!

It's very emotional and has a strong message. The part that really gets me is the guy trying to get people's attention and he has to yell instead of being like "hey can you help/pay attention?". It's sad. Only 20% of people look at/make eye contact with/acknowledge (wave at/etc.) homeless people. And despite all the research, people still think mental health issues are bad or "weird". After the news of Jonghyun's passing, I immediately thought of this song and how society continues to overlook mental health. Its sad that people's cries aren't heard and artists like B.A.P. try to shine a light and it goes unseen by most. We need to be more open with recognizing signs and helping each other! I couldn't help but think of this song and video, it's disgraceful how mental health issues are deemed practically non-existent, or the fault of the person suffering. We can't let this keep happening, I hope B.A.P never stop wanting to inspire change with their lyrics and concepts.

It's so sad that a lot of people forgot them so easily... I've always been really impressed and amazed by this group, ever since they debuted. At first I was a little bit sceptical ?? Because before *Warrior* I had never listen such a strong hip hop style, but I stayed because it was really interesting, different and unique. What I love now with B.A.P is that, even if it has been 5 years they debuted, they still really stand out, they keep their identity, they are still "so B.A.P". They didn't fell into the so-called "popular cheesy/post-emo love pop" like most of the groups did (not saying they all did though.) I love that, I still can totally recognize the group I used to love, I'm still loving, and I will probably keep loving. And another thing, B.A.P is the first and only group I actually trust. I mean, they grown up a lot, they seem really mature and intelligent, what I like with them is that, I feel like they're not letting the industry brainwashing them. I feel like they're not letting themself being deaden. They have a really good mind. They give that feel of truthful persons. I'm happy because I stan a group I can trust, I stan a group I know they can think correctly, they have a strong mind, they're intelligent, they know what is good for them. I also love the fact that they're not drowning under the pink fluff and strass and that they talk about serious thing in their songs. They make some happy songs too, because there is good things in this world right ? But they're not trying to ignore some important society problems, and I love the fact that they can express themself about that through their songs. I can't even call B.A.P an idol group. They're professional, they are true artists. Their work deserves so much recognition. Please don't let them down. They're the most impressive kpop group I have ever seen. That's why I really love and admire them. Appreciate their work, I hope people could realize how good this group is doing. You have no idea how talented and how intelligent they are. Their relationship are also really strong, I hope this group will lasts for a really long time, and I'm pretty sure they will. They didn't give up when they had problem with their label, they even waited for Zelo to be an adult to start their lawsuit against their label. When everybody thought they would disband, they came back even stronger. Yongguk promised us they will stay together for a really long time. And I trust him. Please don't let them down...
@LadySuikoden7 жыл бұрын
CHEEJICAKE is it really so important to have back fans who left them when the boys needed the most support by them? I prefer new fans that doesn't know who B.A.P but are interested in them, instead of olds fans who abbandoned them in their hard times. The lawsuit "kicked out" the fake fans and only the loyal fans remained, isn't that good? :)
@monfetus33907 жыл бұрын
Of course, I expressed myself a little bit akwardly. I don't hope old "fans" to come back or something. But it just makes me sad that a lot of people actually know B.A.P but act like they are dead now. I saw so much hate comments saying "are B.A.P even still alive?" or things like that, it just makes me feel so bad. I know that even Yongguk said that for him, popularity is not important, that he just wants to make the music he likes with his group. But I just think that it's too bad that now, everybody ignore B.A.P and act like they're some nugus when a lot of them used to compliment what they did. As a fan of B.A.P, ever since they debuted, it makes me feel bad that things have to turn out like this. I don't understand people calling them dead when such a work deserves a little more attention. I'm so happy that now we only have the true fans, because now, BABYz are so devoted and it makes me so happy, but sometimes I kinda feel like we don't deserve B.A.P. I'd like to show them how much we admire and respect what they are doing, because I truely admire and support them, but I just feel like I'm failing at it. I feel so sorry that when they didn't give up, a lot of us totally gave up at the point where some started calling them dead... I don't really know how to express that, my feelings about all these things are even messed up, I don't really know anymore, I just hope the best for them.

honestly bap will have a place in my heart but another group caught my heart and I really wish bap the best of luck they are so so talented an hardworking and I hope they gain many new fans but I also won't drop my group that was there when I need it the most. The group I stan now is often target of hate because of their popularity but I was a fan from debut and I grew along with them and their stuggles (and how no one had hope they would achieve greatness) , so yes while bap was a group I used to love and I wish them immense prosperity I don't think it's fair for you to call out fans who left or have a new fave.
@LadySuikoden7 жыл бұрын
No one never said people can't be multifandom. I am multifandom myself. For fans who abbandoned them during their hard times i mean that kind of fans who literally turned their backs to them. Fans who used harsh and rude words like "they are dead now, they should not have done the lawsuit" even if they know how hard was for the boys, how both mentally and phisically tired they were, but they still endured that sh*t just for their fans, the same fans who left them when the boys decided they couldn't endure it anymore, the same fans who doesn't give a sh*t about their comebacks now. I can't call this kind of fans "real fans" because, in my oppinion, if you already turned one time your backs to a group that you loved, who assure that you will not do the same with the new group you scream to love? I hope this will never happen, but if something similar happen, i'm afraid that the same fate could happen to those groups that now are in their most high spotlight.

When i heard of as the bgm to a video i was watching and it sounded so emotional so i checked it out and then i discovered 'Drunkenness' and that led me to B. A. I started looking at the member profiles to get to know them and then i saw (am still watching) 'One Fine Day'. Just from this I've learned who is who and I've gotten to see more of their personalities. They just touched me at how genuine they are and how much they love and support each other. And then i look at you, the fandom aka babyz. I see how much you love and support them as well. STOP SLEEPING ON B.A.P I was there and it genuinely makes me so sad how he is always close to crying when he tells us how glad they are we haven't left them. It just shows how much B.A.P love their fans and how attached they've become to them (just as much as we did) during the lawsuit. ;; they're the most precious ppl in the world and deserve everything. They honestly love their fans so much and are actually really afraid of losing them. I just wish that B.A.P and Babyz will go a long way together

This song is a little different than other B.A.P songs if you realise, they are not trying to show off vocals (compared to other songs, daehyun's vocals are not as high) or rap skills. If you noticed, yongguk has very little lines, himchan got more lines. What does it mean? They're not trying to sell you a song, they are sending us a message, a story.

ok so without even thinking about the meaning, the lyrics or even the comments I just watched the MV and got tears in my eyes...this is so emotional on so many levels, so powerful and truthful, touched me heart so much and to see YongGuk just calms me down! I liked BAP before and I have to say I became a hardcore fan with their last comeback cos the album NOIR is so good, every song is a masterpiece I could not believe the members did that and after everything they have been through I felt this album was a real masterpiece indeed so they earned my respect as artists not only as a great kpop idol group and now to see the leader back - I can not put in words how happy and relieved I am with all the constant news of group disbandments and members leaving and all the heartbreaking stuff idols go through as people so I am grateful he was able to come back and put all these deep emotions into a great album! Thank you BAP for being real! Fighting!

Dear new fans: BABY fandom had to learn the hard way that it's very easy to say that you "stan" someone. It actually proved to be a lot harder than it sounds like to some of us when the hiatus hit the fandom. Don't say sorry for finding our talented boys at this point. Because of the fans turning their backs to these guys during the hiatus we will always value the strength of your love more than the time spent in the fandom. Being a fan in a small fandom isn't easy but if you're ready to stand by our idols' side even during the hardest of times then you're just the kind of fan we all wish to find when we find someone saying "I am a new BAP stan". I'm not be a pre-debut Baby either but I've been lucky enough to find this fandom that has so many mature fans who realize that there's just so much more to being a good fan than just finding a group and saying that you "stan" them before someone else does. So step in. :)

I was a fan of a very famous British group from 2012 to May 2014. but I became dissatisfied with their kind of music which I find later on to be shallow, and I also feel so uncomfortable their fandom to which I formerly belong. Their fandom became so arrogant and bullies small fandoms. I did not know B.A.P before, but during their hiatus I came upon their video ONE SHOT, then I saw the video BADMAN, and that was it!!! I was smitten by B.A.P's music. I fell in love with B.A.P. . I said to myself "This is what I'm looking for." B.A.Ps music is what I'm looking for. I became their fan during their hiatus. I waited for their comeback, I never lost hope. I already made my choice. I am a BABY, It's like finding my ONE TRUE LOVE after having so many crushes. I have NO REGRETS!!

DorkyTrooper this is an interesting comment. I can imagine it would have been really hard for BABY when they started to lose their debut buzz and EXO really took off. I think BAP always have had a lot of talent but their songs didn't always have a sound that a massive audience could appreciate because it's quite "hard" but then they also randomly had Aegyo songs which made the hard stuff seem less authentic. But this is a return to form for them. I also LOVE 1004 Angel. And who can't appreciate a little "the loofahs on fire"

okay can we talk about the diversity in this video ? at first seeing the first actor i thought they were going to play the full white forienger/american cast card. That, for me, usually throws off the whole video because you can tell its a targeted audience for selling or pure aesthetic value. But here, as I was seeing more and more different people, it shocked me in the greatest way since i dont often see that in kpop (maybe i havent seen enough ?) , especially at the end with all kinds of faces. It made the video more, universal ? more relatable ? It pulled my perspective out from just simply listening to this kpop band trying to find a bias, to really thinking of 'people' as a whole, the behavior of people, and the message. I listened with no subtitles and I still was able to understand what they were putting out there. With subtitles, it just proved how great this song is. This is my first song I've heard by them and I am so damn IMPRESSED. INSTANT FAN, NEW STAN

I like reading everyone's personal comments on this song so I'm gonna add my own little grain. This song came out exactly the day my insomnio and my panic attacks and anxiety peaked, I had a breakdown some hours before it came out and was in a very dark place and as soon as this came out i watched it and even if I barely understand Korean, I felt it. I cried whatever I had to cry left, and now I'm crying again remembering that. This isn't the first time either a song of theirs have come exactly when I need it. They are really different from other boys groups, they do not just care about themselves, they care about the whole world ,the whole society. Himcham(Red hair)- He has a kinda cute personality but he's also the kind of person who would say something like "this video is going to be rated 18+ cause of my sexy body😂" and he jokes a lot with his members (he's also the mom of the group) and he calls the younger members His kids, He's a BIG twice and red velvet fanboy too lmao in general himchan issa cute fluff(he also sucks at video games and can play lots of instruments) Yongguk-Yongguk is more on the silent side unlike his very noisy group, and as you notice hes more of the "philosopher" type but he's also cute! and super awkward around girls oml, he produces aLOT of bap music but he has also produced for other groups like vixx and infinite he enjoys ramen a lot😂he even eats it raw during one fine day also he's in love with stuff Tigger dolls!,BAPs dorm is filled with them from fans although he looks scary he's also the same guy who bought matching pink iphones with Himchan and he cares a lot about society issues and he's the dad of the group(he has an identical twin called bang yongman) Jongup-Jongup is the most random person in the group smh hes like the meme cause his facial expressions are literally the best and he loves anime and nesquik and ALSO COLLECTING YEEZYS SMH he used to be called "YMCA bully" cause he refused to go to school once and his mom bribed him with a character bag😂 Daehyun-he's the loudest member and you can hear his high notes from a mile away(like when peniel in btob said he heard him screaming when daehyun fell down in the bathroom and he thought he was practicing😂)he and youngjae are really close they have a ship called "daejae" he's also the most Extra person ever lmao and he's a busan boi Youngjae-Hes also loud AF like daehyun and he used to want to be a professional gamer when he was younger😂outside of the group he says JB from got7 is his closest friend (they were on celebrity bromance together) and he was also a former JYP trainee and he's the master at cringey aegyo Zelo-he's the only member with a stage name ,his real name is Junhong and he's Also known for his fast LTE rap, he's cute sometimes but when he's dancing he's wildt and he has a dog called mochi which he even made an instagram for!+(bymochi)zelo is also quiet just like yongguk but he's adorable

The music video honestly touched my heart. This music video was realistic, haunting, and beautiful. The mental illnesses portrayed were raw (I feel the members can relate well to something so serious especially Yongguk), I saw quite a few (Depression, Anxiety, Anorexia), and the message in the video is so important which I feel many people these days brush off. I'm thankful to BAP as well for portraying this with so many different ethnicity's as well, and this song is the exact reason forever I've been a fan to BAP. HUMANITY, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE OF BAP. THEY'RE NOT JUST ANY SIMPLE BOY GROUP WHO SINGS LOVE SONGS. THEY ARE 6 TALENTED YOUNG MEN WHO HAVE GONE THROUGH SHIT. I swear to God, if I see anyone bashing in the comments of this video.... P.s to the dislikers... seriously? You must be one who has yet to WAKE UP... though I'm sure your hand just slipped :)

Noxmoony Same. This song was so important to me, when I was trying to work despite having a severe clinical depression. Every day was a struggle, but I had some things that helped me and this song was one of them. I always listened to it in the morning on my way to work. It comforted me and got me into a mood where I could survive through another day. I've been on a sick leave for half a year and I'm doing much better. I wanna say the same thing: hang in there. I was contemplating suicide before Christmas, but after starting therapy and getting a medication that finally suits me, I've gotten much better in a short time. It's like a window has been opened after a long time and I can breathe again. I'm probably changing careers to arts which I've always dreamed of. Life finally feels worth living for. The good days will come. Don't give up and don't be afraid to seek help.
