Hints of the Dave Weckl Band in this piece. Wow, that's some serious company. And . . . it blows me away how much Senri looks exactly like my first and only wife. Now I know what she'd look like if she played. RIP Yukiko!!!!! I love you and miss you.

I have watched Senri since she first started posting K-ON! covers. I said to a friend who was watching with me, "This girl is going all the way to the top." Kozo Suganuma taught her well and she is just plain phenomenal. She may very well be the best jazz drummer on the planet. If she isn't, she is well on her way to becoming it. I hope that your career and your studies at university are going well.
I went to watch her performance in the last month "Cider Tour" in Japan (Bottom Line Japan - licensed hall from Bottom Line NYC). She and her superiors support artists (top performers in Japan) reproduced and enhanced this beautiful album. I could remind happy dry and bright air in California even in Japan. Her drum set is extremely awesome. This was my first experience to join in her live, and what I was amazed was the normal size drum stick looked so bold and thick due to her small hands. As for the sound, her articulation of high dynamic range from heavy strong shot to little like a feather touch mixed dazzlingly high speed in every single measure makes sense to clearly express the mood of songs.

Its kinda crazy. We've watched her grow up, lol. Going from a child prodigy at 14, to now just a prodigy, being 19. Crazy crazy. Love this song, and the playing and the timing, its all so good!
Yes Lyle Mays might be somewhere turning around in their Phase Dances. Great Musicians.

I started listening to Senri because t was curious to see a skinny pretty girl play so well. Now I listen because she is the most accurate, creative and skilled drummer I know.
The smile does not want to leave my face. What a wonderful piece of music. I have to stop playing the video over and over again, otherwise my grin will be chronic. I am delighted that you have found such wonderful partners to create this piece of pure joy, vitality and spirit ... Thank you ! You have made my day a wonderful end ! Here is the helpless attempt of the translation software :)

Not female drummer....Just THE drummer..Above of any genre.....And Not...She's not GIFTED....She works and pratice and studying so hard since her 5 years old to be what she is. Not for a girl....But as musician...One of the best of the world.
This is just a great song. I love the transitions and the key changes and the little Ab, D, Ab, G bass part. Such a nice little set of notes/chords. And the playing by all three is just so tight for the song. So glad I found this music. It has sparked my inspiration.

A truly infernal trio. I obviously adore more the Afro-inspired groove of Felix Salal Lecco that seems to give a bit more humanity to musicians who are too technically skilled.

They rock hard in a fusion way. They have that rock sound that RTF had but jazz and time changes too. That drummer is insanely rhythmic, and the other players are right there in the pocket. WOW...

I think it's just a matter of time that she will begin incorporating other percussion instruments such as malletkat, various blocks a la Neil Peart. I imagine she has studied him as well as Bruford, Buddy Rich, etc. Buddy always used a simple kit though. When he played, he had a look of passion written on his face. I have noticed that same expression on Senri's face as well. She has a bright future and I wish her well.

She is definitely not a stale performer . Her drumming just keeps getting better and her drumming is growing as she does . I have followed her from almost her start . Just here on KZbin . But this little phenom has absolutely got what it takes to be one of the greatest drummers of all time , and I really think she will be in that category when she has grown older . She is so flexible in the different styles of music . No one can take anything away from her . She's awesome .

Great music, fantastic musicianship all around! The video editing drives may eyes and brain crazy, changes way much - way to many cuts. Wish videographers would not chop up a performance so much - way less in fact. Music videos are about the performance of the musicians - not about the idiotic editing ideas. Otherwise Senri is just super, her drumming is fun to listen to!
