이 노랜 우리나라 힙합의 클래식 중에 클래식이야! 우리가 힙합을 본격적으로 듣게 한 계기가 이 사람이야. 그의 아내인 윤미래 또한 훌륭한 래퍼인데, 난 노래로만 들었어. 예전엔 드렁큰 타이거가 2인조 그룹인데, 이젠 타이거 jk 1인으로 가는거같아. This song is the classic of classic of the Korean hip-hop!! This is the reason we let hip-hop be heard in earnest. His wife Yoon Mi Rae is also great woman rapper in Korea, but I only listened her songs without rap. Her singing is also good. I think once Drunk Tiger was duo group, but now Tiger JK one group.

This song is about Tiger JK's grandmother whom he respects most. His grandma was like a mother to him. Instead of his parents who were busy with frequent overseas business, JK's grandma went to Taekwondo contest with JK when he was a child, attended concerts cheering on him, enjoyed listening to JK's rap, like that. But JK had a rare disease called myelitis in 2005. So he couldn't see his grandma as much as before. Then one day JK's grandmother suddenly collapsed around 8 am, and passed away while she was being moved to hospital. JK rushed to the hospital after hearing the news, and her grandmother, waking up miraculously with CPR, held JK's hand and finally passed away at 8:45. This is the story about this song.(His preparing his 7th album at that moment) That's why his pain and sorrow come deap into our hearts. And you know what, The Quiett produced this song. ------- 이 노래는 타이거 JK가 가장 존경했던 그의 할머니에 대한 거야. JK의 할머니는 잦은 해외출장으로 바빴던 그의 부모님을 대신해 JK의 태권도대회나 콘서트에 가며 그를 응원하고 그의 랩을 즐겨들었다고 해. 마치 엄마 같은 존재였지. 그런데 2005년 JK가 희귀병인 척수염을 앓게 되면서 전처럼 할머니를 자주 찾아뵙지 못했다고 해. 그러던 중 JK의 할머니가 쓰러지셨고, 병원으로 이동하던 중 돌아가셨다고.. 그 소식을 듣고 JK는 병원으로 달려왔고, 심폐소생술로 기적적으로 깨어난 할머니가 JK의 손을 잡고 8시 45분 마지막으로 세상을 떠났어. 이게 이 노래에 얽힌 이야기이고(그는 이 시기에 7집 앨범 작업 중이었어), 그의 고통과 슬픔이 우리에게 와닿게 다가오는 이유야. 그리고 이 노래, 더콰가 작곡했다고 하네.

so drunken tiger is like a duo with tiger jk and dj shine where the dj produced most of his tracks. currently he is MFBTY with his wife yoon mirae (Tasha or T) and Bizzy. simply put drunken tiger's tracks are very hiphop to the core whilst MFBTY is more mainstream hiphop/popish (he said that one of his album i forgot which one it had buckubucku and those tracks in it are kpop not hiphop)

Before Tiger JK, there WERE some artists who rapped in korea but they didn't have any knowledge of hiphop. They just imitated the "gangster" street attire and their lyrics were just random statements without proper flow or meaning. Tiger JK came back to Korea after graduating from UCLA in Cali and used his talents and influences from Cali and introduced actual flow and impactful lyrics that sparked the rise of 1st generation Korean hiphop artists (dynamic duo, epik high, garion, MC Sniper, and more)

1. "Drunken Tiger" was the name of hiphop duo team, DJ Shine and Tiger JK. After DJ Shine left the team, the name "Drunken Tiger" became the same meaning with "Tiger JK" to the people. I don't know whether Tiger JK himself thinks the same or not. 2. He never acted or filmed movies, dramas as I know. But he was always good at showing his small feelings, like "how it feels when he notice the price of cigarette increased" or "how it feels when he woke up at ER after collapsed and passed out". He spat the rap cheesy, but his emotion and thought are so real, just like ODB (Ol' Dirty Bastard) of Wu-Tang Clan. He actually said that he respects ODB and referred him also.
