You know how sometimes a song gives you a certain feeling you can not put into words? It is a mix of emotions, it's comfort, sadness, loneliness, yearning, a warm hug, all mixed together. I think no one other than Kim Feel can do this. It's like your heart hurts, but in the same time somehugs you, and this song does it. I know that Feel nim talked about the feelings he wants to convey with this song during his instalive, and my heart hurts that he has to go through all those feelings, but I hope in the same time he finds comfort in his own songs as well. I feel hopeless when I know that I'm giving comfort by his songs, yet I can not do anything to help. I hope you, Kim Feel, know that we're here, always cheering you and loving you. As you said, it's all right if all we do sometimes is live. That's how life goes about and there isn't much we can do, but we can be proud of ourselves and trust ourselves. Something magical happens when certain music is heard...we are stunned by its beauty and amazed at how it can possibly know us so deeply and clearly. The mind closes itself to painful, unbearable events but, the heart remembers everything--for it has a mind of its own. This music can break open the heart and release the sadness within...what remains are the memories--and profound comfort. And all the while we didn't know we needed this. So, we do this over and over again--we listen, we feel, we break open...and this is how we can bear to go on.

Yeah... There is something very very special in his voice, in his songs. I believe it's because he is a dreamer, a truth-seeker, a philosophic type of person. In this song, he sings about our life journey, our ego & identity, and our innermost struggles and solitude. This song is about something priceless. This song is about values, not about materials. Not visible, not countable, but not replaceable. I can feel tons of versatile feelings - frustrated, saddened, bitter, solitary, desperate, but still in hope. And he conveys all these feelings in his peacock-like voice. All mixed together. Such a masterpiece. Such a timeless one.

Shouldn’t be at all surprised if he composed this in his sleep, when all the synaptic connections clicked perfectly. Another great song from Kim Feel, one of my favourite singer/songwriters. Essentially it’s a 7 note motif that rises and falls (like the scissor lift he’s on - what a good metaphor) from beginning to end. And what’s great about the tune is that, though varied, it holds its melodic strength. (I swear at times in this MV I thought I was looking at Son Suk Ku in “My Liberation Notes”. I love Kim Feel’s song “Here We Are” from that OST, too.)

@@Itsyourfans7 I don't remember it well, but what I understand and remember is he was going through a lot of stress and those stress made a lot of sleeping problems for him... He mentioned that he was so worry about his fans opinion about his songs... They didn't like his songs because they're not about love, and told him they're not good enough!!! So he has a lot of sleeplessness problems and couldn't sleep well because of those pressure imposed by others and last year was not a good year for him.... And because of those painful days he decide to write this song to tell about his feelings and be able to solace and comfort others with his song.... So as a fan I'm so sorry about what he been through, because his holy voice and songs always heals me spiritually, then I hope he spend more beautiful and fabulous days from now on. (Sorry about my poor English!)

I get to know about Kim Feel thanks to Itaewon Class OST, "Someday, The Boy" was the song that made me tears, and when I searched for the artist, it lead me to the medley he sang many of his songs and this one "Sleplessness" was one of my favorites. He has a special hability to express many emotions through his voice and his lyrics, I'm glad to know such a incredible artist and his emotional songs. But I feel sad about the thoughts and dark moments he may be through to write sad songs. Kim Feel, you must be proud of everything you've done, all of your songs are special part of you and they have helped many people to get over bad moments, even not to feel alone. Kim Feel is my favorite singer, period. His voice is beautiful, almost hypnotic and I feel like he sings to my very soul. I do not speak Korean but his talent transcends language.
