This ferry has more chance of being raised from her wreck site and being restored to sailing condition before the new Glen Sannox enters service.

I was born in '57 and made that journey over the water countless times too and from visits to my granny in Lamlash. I remember the loo roll throwing at September and Easter weekends. There was something about seeing folk off in those days, it was an event. Brings back sweet memories. Thanks for posting this.

We used to go to Milport for the 1st fortnight in July each year. I remember as a child watching all the ships (railway ferries my dad called them)...Glen Sannox, Maids of Argyle, Skelmorlie and Ashton, the Waverley fortunately still with us and of course..The Keppel....now in Malta. I thought these experiences would always be there to return to but time nor tide waits for no man. Present and future generations will never know how special these days were.

My father was the Chief Engineer for a number of years. Thanks for this, it brought back fond memories of both him and the Ship. Cheers.

Thank you for the fantastic video. I have many happy memories on her. Thakeing the wheel as a kid was amazing from Oban to Mull in the early 80s. Thank you.

I too the Grandson of the purser (Thomas Craig) aboard The Glen Sannox, was privileged to sail on her From Weymms Bay to the isle of Arron, and was lucky enough to get the grand tour of the old girl in her heyday, from the bridge to the engine room in the early 70's as i went back for a visit to Scotland , ( being born in Greenock ) and the same name of my grand father THOMAS CRAIG

Boat of my childhood (amongst others). Loved its shape and power and no accident it was successful. The guy that put tables and chairs on the car deck in its final year should have been chucked over midway. Of its time and the best.
