The reason they showed the men as dead is because it signals that they are dead in the relationship. They don't feel anything for the women anymore but the women are desperately trying to hold onto them and the relationship...like and addiction which is what Apego means...the sign on the building means Addiction.

Apego in the MV is the name of the hotel where couples stay in, in spanish “apego” means “attachment, addiction” so it means the couples are literally closed in a toxic relationship.
