"Decalcomanie" "Starry Night" are two more of their 'Latin' tracks that I love. Mamamoo "Killing Voice with Perfect Harmony" is them, live, in a studio performing a montage of some of their greatest hits. It's amazing in its own right, but is also a great way to see/hear what they are capable of, and decide which tracks to check out next. If you know the Tom Jones original, I would also recommend their live performance of "Delilah".

The best guide to the Mamamoo members is the two part Introducing Mamamoo by Purple Hawke. That's a jaguar, matching the Latin American setting for the song & MV. The Spanish guitar is symbolic musically and thematically. In the intro the passion & duende of flamenco are identified with their tears & emotions about the egotistic lover they're dumping and are depicted in the MV as the origin of the song. From the flamenco root we pick up elements of the Spanish diaspora in the reggaeton beat, latin pop vibe and the various Latin American elements seen in the MV as they absorb those influences and transform them into their own style of kpop. The lover is represented by the guitarist and the breakup is symbolized by burning his guitar in effigy and dancing in the flames. Egotistic is the 2nd title track in Mamamoo's year-long four album series called 4 Season 4 Color. Starting in the spring of 2018 they released one album per season, each with a theme color and emotion/relationship stage and one member was featured on each album by writing & performing a solo song. Egotistic was the Summer/Red song, passion was the emotion, and Moonbyul (the rapper) was the featured member, hence her tear at the beginning and her image on the flaming red crescent moon at the end. The album was called Red Moon. 4 Season 4 Color was an unprecedented album series by a kpop girl group and remains one of the most complex, ambitious projects in kpop history. As to what's next you need to see Mamamoo live. Their records are great but they're even better live because of their amazing, always live vocals, riveting stage presence and bff team chemistry on stage. I recommend two sampler medleys to start with: Dingo Killing Voice, which includes snippets of song from their debut in 2014 to their latest singles at the time the video was filmed in 2020, and the Immortal Songs Medley, which was filmed at a MMM concert in 2017 and includes some of the cover songs they performed on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2.

Solar actually took up pole dancing after being done with this m/v. She is really a health nut now, she does some weight training videos on her YT channel, Solarsido. She does other interesting things there. She interviews people, she has some behind-the-scenes videos for their main mvs, as well as dares and challenges. I wonder how many fans worldwide got that tattoo on Wheein's shoulder for real. For her it was just artwork and only appeared in this MV, but it is SUCH an AWESOME design, I wish I had that one! I would even have similar placement! That entire idea was awesome! I liked your reactions here, guys. :)

Rapper: Moonbyul, she writes her verses so she's now close to 100 KOMCA credits if I'm not mistaken. All 4 have solo albums and she has a concert this weekend! (online too!) :) (oh, and since she was born in 92 she shares groupchat with BTS Jin ^^) Solar (pole dancer) has a solo album upcoming next 16th! And Hwasa (the sexy role one? The best thing about Mamamoo is that their live performances ALWAYS sound better than the recording. I really recommend their live music shows of each song and also their Dingo killing voice live medley! Another amazing Mamamoo song is Starry Night! And I hope you also delve into solos - all the members have solo work. Don't want to overwhelm you haha - I think you'll love Hwasa's solo Maria! Mamamoo are known for the highest level of talent as singers, individually and put them together it is unreal talent, they are also known for putting on unreal live performances. They sing so well live, it is hard to tell the difference between the studio recordings or live. They do epic performances, any of the Queendom songs are good examples, the entire 4 colors 4 seasons concert(is available 4 hours long). Their songs hit nearly every genre, jazz and big band to reggae, latin and more. Live is best. Plus some MVs are worth watching because they are like mini movies in 4 minutes. Lots of crackhead songs too, probably one of the best vocal performances I have heard is them dressed as pokemon singing about Pikachu. Lots of solo stuff. I am all in the Solar system for my bias, Solar was the one on the pole. She is known for power vocals and has a youtube Solarsido, besides more of the pole, acapella covers, even has a cover of Michael Jackson man in the mirror for one of the more recent. Also they do write some of their own Music and Lyrics. Moonbyul the rapper, is by now the second or even most credited lyricist in korea. They all just had comeback solos, all have youtube channels. Solar's comeback is 3/16 Face. Check it out when it releases.

Follow mamamoo since 2016, and i fall deep, funny thing, i love it and never regret it. I know KPop since early 2000, and i can say that mamamoo are one of the best performer in KPop.
