I'm a huge fan of BTS too, I'm not a one group fan (called multifandom I think?) I Love mamamoo (bias Solar, but love the rest too!) This song was co-written by Hwasa. Hip combines being a diss track addressed to their haters and the fashion nazis on the internet who have nothing better to do than criticize what Hwasa wears to the airport (hence the "breaking news" scene) with a positive message re-defining Hip as being true to yourself despite any criticism you might get for being different and unusual. They portray different roles, and are basically saying: whether you are a sportswoman (Solar as female boxer), a CEO/producer (moonbyul), a stand alone mom (Hwasa with the little girl), a rockstar (notice they used drag queens in those scenes to support the Lgbt+ community), an activist or painter (Wheein)., you can still be unique and hip in your own way. Aka it's a message to everyone to not let the latest trends/ society's expectations of what you have to be or do define you. Also, note how at 10:49 hwasa takes a selfie with Wheein (as an activist) and then walking away; meaning the haters are first hating at what Wheein is doing but after it becomes "hip" they wanna look and be the same.

Actually Allen you were right about the meaning of the song this song is basically a message to the haters for example at the part where it says “president hwasa” hwasa has wore like a sports bra I think to the airport and a lot of people got mad at her so when she had to go to the airport again she wore a shirt with no bra so she had gotten a lot of hate so the message MAMAMOO is trying to give in this song is that don’t care what people have to say and that they’ll do act an dress as they please. And MAMAMOO is really good friends with bts moonbyul the girl that was rapping is friends with Jin and she’s in a group chat with him

you guys are right. this song is pretty much a clapback to the hate and criticism they received over the years. hwasa co-wrote the song and many stuff appearing in the lyrics/mv are actually true like hwasa did have an "airport" scandal where she showed up without a bra, and the line "panties sticking out" refers to another airport scandal where she wore something similar to her outfit in the mv. the rapper y'all compared to suga is moonbyul! she's extremely talented and writes all her raps, she's currently the most credited female k-artist of her generation. hope you'll check more mamamoo songs!

I am so glad you guys checked out more Mamamoo and liked it.👍 They are so underrated. I consider them as the Vocal Queens of Korean Girl Group. They are all individually talented with unique voices that mashes and harmonizes amazingly together. Like BTS, they're not from the former Big Three Music Industry so they had to really make their way up and endure a lot of criticism for just being themselves. Fun fact: you’re right, the song is directed to the haters that in general criticize kpop artists’ image in every single way (too fat, too thin, ugly clothes, too much makeup and so on). The part where they slow it down (and that “hwasa dressed ridiculously at the airport” title) refers to something that really happened. Hwasa was once photographed at the airport with her pants opened so that you could see her underwear (it was a statement, not a mishap), and she was attacked so much for it. That’s why in that part of the vid hwasa has her underwear showing and the lyrics go: “Stained t-shirts Underwear sticking out Oily hair I don’t care”

Mamamoo it's known for no being the typical girl group, they were said that they didn't fit beauty standards to be an idol, so even if they are very talented there are people who still looked down to them and throw shade to them because they're not "cute girls" and doesn't behave like and idol girl group.
