I think about Freud's theory from the beginning, before reading the description. I see that their songs always have deeper meaning most people can't understand (well, another kpop idols do it but there's something really OnlyOneOf-ish another idols don't have. Err, lemme rephrase it. Every group have their own signature and also OnlyOneOf). Most people only think that some songs are sexy because they can't understand the deeper meaning. They failed to see the art, only the sex appeal. And I feel sorry for both the audience and the artist. I wish people are more educated, so art can be appreciated properly-and the audience can learn something more appealing than sexual attraction-about human itself.

I checked them out 2 weeks ago because of the title of the song, and for the 5+ years that i'm a kpop fan, this is only my 3rd time stanning a group so fast. Not because it's sexual and i'm thirsting over them. Hell, i'm asexual myself lol. But just because i respect them so much and they are GREAT performers with stable live vocals. And now that i watched more of their songs and their silly content, they are such amazing, humble, funny and caring people. One of the best groups imo. They deserve the world

this song is actually a return to older Korean values. A lot of Westerners see this as Korea progressing, but actually, the only reason Korea is homophobic is because of colonization and Christian missionaries. Korean ideas of sexualities had always been complex, multifaceted, and queer in a lot of ways. I see this as reclaiming that history, defying colonization, mixing into today's social and cultural movements. AND I STAN IT SO HARD!!

But if it was only colonization and Christian missionaries, every country in Latin America would be just as homophobic as Korea. We were colonized by the Spaniards and they had power over our politics, people, culture and religion for over 100 years and in my country gay marriage is legal. So yeah sure, colonization and stuff does factor in Korea being homophobic but it’s not such a big factor.

Asian culture overall is its own culture (of course each country has its own base and culture, but they don’t really look up to the Western culture, but prefer their own) Fortunately, thanks to the technology era, we can learn a lot from one another and I’d say that the new Korean generation will grow with a much more open minded mindset in comparison to the previous ones.

I'm from latin america too and even if in *some* countries gay marriage is legalized we're far from being free of lgbtphobia, it might not be at the same level of south korea but that aspect of colonization definitely influenced us considering that for example a lot of native cultures here had non binary people very normalized and nowdays it's mainly seen as something "weird", macho culture is strong in latin countries and if you compare for example skinship between males here it would've already been marked as gay therefore bad. Sorry if i changed the topic but i felt like you were putting the narrative that in latin america homophobia isn't a thing and sadly that's far from the truth

I honestly have so much respect for them for not only coming out with something that they knew would have an impact but even after the backlash, they didn't stop and instead went hey, look at the bigger picture. I've been a k-music stan for 20 years so I tend to be on the more picky side with my groups now [so I'm not overwhelmed and I just know what I like] but after seeing people talk about the song and group I had to come to check them out and I was not disappointed. I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on the group and before anyone assumes no it's not because of the sexual theme but the talent and the courage to put something like this out and keep it up. The boys themselves worked on the production of the album, as well as the choreography for this song. (They also got backlash for the choreo at 2:10) There is a whole lore here which means events in the storyline that led to the story libidO is telling. This story in specific is about Freud’s theory on instinct and desire (there’s two types of instinct according to his theory and this song is about Natural/Life Instinct). Hopefully that was clear, I’m not the best at explaining~
