It would be hard not to notice considering Pink Fantasy is MyDoll's only group. Though if the KZbin views is anything to go by then I'm not sure they're actually growing. It might just be piling dept. Hopefully you're right and we'll see them blow up. There is too much talent and passion here for them to fail. Also from what we've seen thus far MyDoll treats their idols and trainees really well and I think it would benefit the K-pop industry greatly if MyDoll was successful.

I just wanna give props to Dreamcatcher and Pink Fantasy for actually bringing some touch of rock/metal to the table of kpop. I feel there aren't enough appreciated mainstream groups/artists in the realm of kpop that use the rock sound. They even went as far as to add a growl in there. That's amazing.

For such an underrated group, Pink Fantasy is literally so talented. For everybody who doesn't know, Lee So Hee (the CEO of Mydoll Entertainment) created this group with the purpose of including idols from different age groups. An idol over the age of 25 debuting is uncommon and they are often seen as "too old". Pink Fantasy defied that, with one of the larges age gaps in a group with in Kpop. The CEO also wanted to include idols of different appearances and put the wellbeing of her idols first. @@kellyreis2900 Both these moments just has tonic-dominant note pattern (first to fifth note of a scale), which is seen in legit every single kind of song you could imagine -- so the melody at both of those instances a) isn't something original to dreamcatcher b) serves as a filler to move onto the other verses in the song and is nothing particularly pressing. I think you need to understand that dreamcatcher also does not have a monopoly on certain kinds of sound and you will find that MUCH of their music can be compared to certain j-rock sounds as well, it's just that this kind of music isn't as common in kpop as the more cutesy sounds (which you will see NO-ONE accuse ANY group of stealing lmfao) so they seem much more unique and individual which is fair in KOREA, but definitely not elsewhere. Dreamcatcher does not exist in a vacuum devoid of any musical influence from other genres of music. By 'sounds exactly like dreamcatcher' you need to be more specific -- does it recall a particular song specifically? Because as I wrote in the first paragraph the melody at both of these points is very common 1-5 and cannot be 'owned' or 'belong to' any one particular group or artist. To me it just seems obvious that both Poison and generally Dreamcatcher like to be inspired from j-rock sounds while also being kpop. Final point, this song is VERY dissimilar from Dreamcatcher's discography, as a casual fan who has listened to basically all of their songs and am not unfamiliar to them at all. For one, this song is MUCH heavier. The guitar underpinning the entire song is a very common metal element -- I've watched a few reaction videos by people in metal bands who all expressed their surprise at its inclusion. Also the scream? Very notable here and not something I've ever heard Dreamcatcher use (or if they have, it certainly isn't frequent). The guitar at the end is also just a flat out power metal element, and it was incredible. [edit] I previously stated that I didn;t see the tree element, I must need greater glasses prescriptions lmao, I didn't process the tree being there. But even so, trees are not an original dreamcatcher concept and pretending as if dreamcatcher is remarkably original for centring itself around those elements is frankly quite ridiculous. Also when I saw those moments, I didn't think of Dreamcatcher, I thought of Gfriend's Apple. Let's remember the most well known story associated with that kind of imagery anyway: Snow White! Pink Fantasy's song is literally called POISON: of course they're going to reference Snow White! This is not something DC has a monopoly over, nor is it particularly unique (just seems like a common fantasy element) and is something that has featured in numerous other songs by other groups.

I've seen that most people comparing them to DC are not DC fans. Yes, they have similar concepts and rock/metal style but the song doesn't sound like something Leez&Ollounder (DC producers) would make. The little EDM in this song sounds like classic electronic music (techno maybe?) but DC likes to experiment with DnB mostly in their songs and there's no rap break here like in DC songs. DC is also known for seamlessly blending music genres within the same song, PF has made a metal song that has metal vibes all the way to the end. And PF sounds a lot more metal, only Japanese releases from DC are near this type of heavy sound Other than the concept and choice of genre, the only thing I found similar between the two is the piano slowdown. That's something DC also likes to do a lot. DC has a very distinctive style, we need more songs to know the true PF style, but so far, they have their own and not DC's

I think the comparison is largely made because of the generic genre of rock. Furthermore, you can't deny that there is a hint of Dreamcatcher's debut, Chase Me, with the dark, horror, ritual, concept. But I wouldn't make the comparison, because it's pretty meaningless. There's simply so much music these days, things are bound to overlap. Like I commented in a Rolling Quartz video, whom also got compared to Dreamcatcher a lot, before we get the angry comparisons of "which is better" and "which is more rock," just know that they're in the same music genre, and that's it, don't make further comparisons. If it's a good song, just enjoy it. Also, Pink Fantasy isn't consolidated into a genre. Looking at their previous songs, none of them are like this, and it doesn't seem like this is a genre they'll settle with. Dreamcatcher pretty much has rock identified as their genre. Yeah, they have a lot of songs that branch out into many genres, but their main is still rock, and that's what they're known for. For Pink Fantasy, this is clearly not the case. So let's just acknowledge a good song, listen to it, and not compare.

All of PinkFantasy releases and why they actually didn't change their concepts Iriwa = Dark concept, concept such as tempting someone [Trilogy Pt. 1] Playing House = Bright concept (like Pink in their name), such a cute song and lyrics 12 o' clock = Bright concept, reference of a fairy tale (Cinderella) [Sub-unit] Fantasy = Dark concept, perhaps about finding some fantasy [Trilogy Pt. 2] Not beautiful = About loving yourself [Sub-unit] Shadow Play = More into middle eastern concept, not as dark as Iriwa, just a slight. [Sub-unit/promoted as group] Lemon Candy = Bright concept, reference to fairy tales (Hansel & Gretel, Wizard of the Oz) [Was a B-side of 1st EP but released as single/Pre-release] Poison = Dark concept, i haven't see the lyrics yet so I don't know what it's about [Trilogy Pt. 3] In their trilogy, it always Dark concept. This means that they are actually consistent. I don't know how to decide for Shadow Play, but most of their sub-unit have Bright concept.

All their songs are inspired in fairy tales and their style changes with each fairy tale! The iriwa-fantasy-poison trilogy was their Alice in wonderland trilogy and daewang's bunny mask is a reference to the Alice in wonderland white rabbit. And Playing House was a song about the 7 dwarfs (the 7 members at the time) being in love with Snow White, but hiding their love from her and 'playing house' with her in their dreams, daewang also said that Poison was connected to all of their previous songs and actually that's why momoka appears here eating an apple like Snow White

For a while now, I've always wondered why Daewang is always in the back and has never been in the centre and even if she is, it's only like 2 seconds. . But then I realized, based on the Pink Fantasy lore, one of Daewangs ability is to control Pink Fantasy. Maybe that's why she's always in the back, dancing cause she's controlling them, like puppets. I think it may be both. It’s hard to say because the releases between Poison and Fantasy are by no means metal or rock. Fans of Pink Fantasy said those songs were just fillers to keep the fans satisfied while the company was dealing with some members leaving and to keep money flowing. I don’t know if the members leaving had to do with conflict with the company or if they wanted a more secure future. That’s something you should probably ask a more hardcore fan. I think it’s more reliable to look at Poison, Fantasy, and Iriwa as their main sound and concept and the other releases as mere bsides.

One comeback a year if lucky, no releases in between. But the members make my days so happy I don't want to leave the fandom
