Blimey, I think the phrase "please say Hi when you meet Maria" have a double meaning. Because locally, Malaysian called a police truck that carries criminal as "Black Maria" I think it could just mean "say Hi to a person called Maria" or "say Hi to the police going to throw you in the truck"

I watched this video and I just want to explain something… when the lyrics say about “say hi to maria” when blimey says it was “high because of weeds” but actually it was referred to “black maria” which was synonyms with malaysian police van which was black van who was bring special forces, some of higher officers and also bring criminals who was cuffed to place especially court, jail or any place which similar to it (this vehicle was popular since decades ago, some called it legend van and maybe now still using it) hope this will help ✌🏼😬
