The singer is Heo Solji, the Leader of EXID who happens to be the winner of the pilot episode of King of Mask Singer and thus, made KOMS a regular show which has been copied in many countries. She subsequently won 5 times on KOMS as Dongmakol Girl with awesome performances of “I Can’t,” “Dream Lover,” “Please,” “Father,” “I Will Show You,” “How Do You Like,” and “Sorry.” EXID (stands for Exceed In Dreaming) has not disbanded, and in fact, EXID gave their fans a self-funded 10 year anniversary gift song called “Fire” in 2022. Their famous songs include “Up and Down,” “Ah Yeah,” “I Love You,” “Hot Pink,” “LIE”, and “DDD.” After Solji’s previous duo 2NB failed, Solji was told that she was not pretty enough and too old at 24 years of age to be a female Idol. She became a vocal coach and was EXID’s vocal coach until 3 of the 6 original members left the group and she was asked to join EXID. Solji is considered one of the best vocalists in South Korea with her high notes and breath control. BTW, Solji is now a Music Professor at a South Korean university.
