Honestly the idea that Rick is immune and may be the cure could actually work when you look over everyrhing in the series. Specifically at the beginning. While its unconfirmed if he actually died in the hospital when Shane checked for a heartbeat, if he did actually die at that point, but came back without turning, he could have bypassed the infection since you just need to die for you to turn. Considering i I don't think we have seen any other character in the series go through that, it might be a possibilty and could lead to an actual end for Rick like in the fomics as he could sacrifice his life to provide the cure for people. Specifically his kids and his friends/family
