MVO-2014 Moose Valley Outfitters, Newfoundland moose hunt

I found this preparing for a trip to NF for moose beginning of October. We hunted with Moose Valley several times. This brings back so many good memories. I've been on that plane, stayed in that cabin and hunted with Calvin, Hector and several of the other guides there. Truly great people. Dean, Chuck and the gang are top notch.

I agree they are top notch. I understand that Dean no longer runs MVO, but I am sure he has left it in good hands. My only trip to NL was this trip back in 2014, but I would love to go back there. Thanks for posting your comment.

I may have misunderstood. Did you leave the moose behind except for high cuts only? Locals would have loved your great success.

We took two trips to haul the meat out. My first hike out was with the back straps, tenderloins and liver. That is what I was talking about in the video. We took all four quarters, liver, back straps, tenderloins, rack. Left the neck, ribs, and hide for the birds. Even the neck meat was only what did not go with the front quarters.
