NBA in the 90s was amazing and physical those who claim this era was weak are wrong
@JamesHardenoverKobe Жыл бұрын
That's all the Bird and Magic fans who claim the 90s are weak. Yet they get touchy when I point out Magic choking or Bird overrated superteam that couldn't win back to back. Infact Magic and Bird fans are the ones who say the 90s and 70s are weak. Yet you can credit the success of the 80s to the ABA merger.

Olajuwon was unreal and underrated in the NBA.

I agree with you but this also seems far fetched. I mean he was no. 1 draft pick over the GOAT lol. I agree that we don't talk about him enough, or in the context that we should. Not saying your comment isn't valid, I just marvel at the talent level of the game back in those days.

Hakeem won this game however his team was not to be forgotten. Houston had 2 more 20+ pt scorers that opened things up a bit. Robinson really had to do all the heavy lifting as he always did for these San Antonio until Duncan came around. Robinson had 8 turnovers which is BAD and no blocks which is somewhat a rarity to boot.
@FuShengAlex8 ай бұрын
They both had roughly the same casts. Arguably SA was slightly more talented. Rodman was more valuable than anyone on these Rockets.
@damonsonnier34 Жыл бұрын
David Robinson won this one-on-one matchup in scoring, and efficiency. Both Robinson's and Hakeem's triple doubles showed why they were neck and neck for league MVP during that season.
@MDBBall Жыл бұрын
You also have to take into account assists, rebounds, blocks, turnovers and most importantly overall impact then you have to give it to Olajuwon in this one
11:36 is probably the best illustration of Hakeem as the complete threat on offense there is. Thinks about three, proceeds to handle, gets respect for the long range ability, creates the automatic mid range off good footwork and dribble. Total offensive weapon. I mean Antoine Carr sucked and he sold his soul to lose with the mormons, but still.

been watching some recent highlights its all the same: 90% 3s, a guy with open dunk, a guy drawing a foul and getting a 3, a final score of 135-138. 3 pointers really killed this game 🤣

EUREKA! BUT THATS ALL BECAUSE MJ ISO WAS BORING. AND PISTONS 2004 HELD EVERY TEAM UNDER 75 PTS CAUSES TODAY ERA WITHOUT BARKLEY JORDAN AND BEN WALLACE SIGNATURE.

Fun fact. Houston Rockets are the only team in NBA history to lead the league in 3 pt attempts and make for the season. While also winning the champ in the same season. Not only are they the only team in history to pull this off they did it twice.

I feel like what held Robinson back was his lack of aggression. He lacked the "meanness" needed to dominate.

The postseason is different with it being more about adjustments and offensive half court execution. The Spurs in the 95-96 season also went 3-1 against the Jazz with 2 of the wins being on the road yet ended up getting manhandled in the postseason in 6 games with all 4 of their losses being lopsided blowouts.
