That's my last name. Also my great grandmothers last name is whipple, but she was adopted i believe. Her race was mulatto.

@utopia4056 True. I don't mean to be offensive, but that's in my great grandmother's census. I'm black. She was the only light person in the black family. But I don't know my ancestors all too well. They've never talked of the past which is another thing. I would've thought that word died out and no longer offensive since I don't hear it at all.
