"Mabulu Mankatu Lutima" from a super 45 EP on the Ngoma label. By kind permission of afrodisc.com.
In 1944 Congolese singer Paul Mwanga made his debut alongside Wendo with the group Taureau and the guitarist Jhimy. In 1958 he signed to the Ngoma label. He had many hits singing about love, anguish and the disenchantment of daily life. Singing in the Kikongo language he was considered the voice of Bas-Congo. This song however reminded me of the Mutuashi beat of the Baluba, but what do i know?
