MX Bikes on Steam Deck | Installing Mods

Second video with the Steam Deck. Here I am explaining how to install mods. It's pretty much the same as on Windows, just that you have to go into the Deck's "Desktop Mode" to access the documents files.
Steam did a cool job with that, it pretty much emulates a Windows installation for each game and you have your documents same as on Windows. Pretty straight forward.
Hint: If you have a Bluetooth Mouse & Keyboard, or an USB-C to USB adapter, you can even use a Mouse and Keyboard to navigate through the Deck.

Protip. You need to run the game one time before you can find these folders.

Awesome video! Your videos helped me out a ton when setting up MXB on my Deck. You can also use Warpinator on your deck and Winpinator on you windows PC to easily transfer all your mods from your PC to Deck.

For everyone here getting the unsupported compression file error, I figured it out. The steam deck can’t extract the tyre pkz for some reason. I did everything per this video but I went into the bikes file and copied all the files. Then manually drug them into the bikes folder. I drug the tyres folder (not including the pkz file) into the tyres folder. I then downloaded the pack on my pc. Extracted the whole folder. Then copied only the tyre pkz file to my sd. From there I reinserted the sd card into the steam deck and copied the pkz file to the tyres mod folder (not the one we just copied there). Now my game is working like a champ!

@@dy1un if that didn’t work something probably got put in the wrong spot or something. I just had to reinstall my game and redo this two days ago and it worked perfectly for me again. Did you put the tyre pkz in the tire folder that you drug in or the main tire folder? And also, did you drag the entire bikes folder onto the bikes folder on the s steam deck? or did you open that and drag each individual folder into the steam deck folder? Because you need to drag each individual folder out of the zip file and into the steam deck folder.

Ok so I’m redownloading the v.0.18.3a.zip oems and I get them in the file and everything but the tires says some thing about them not able to transfer over into the folder so I’m stumped and trying to figur it out but need help what can I do because if I go out and get into the game the bike show I can ride but the tires are gone on all bike even poboso bikes so yea updated video please on how to download them again please

This is what I just figured out for mine. I went on my pc, redownloaded the pack. Extracted the files. Then copied the tyre pkz only to my sd card. Then copied that file to the mods folder and that fixed my issue. Yu need to copy everything as normal on the steam deck to. The bikes and tyre folder. My oems are working now!

Can you please explain to me how to install the tyre patch? When I try to join an online server it says Tyres mismatch and I think it’s because I’m maybe not placing the tyres download into the folder correctly but I cannot figure it out. Thanks.

Were you ever able to remedy this? I’m having the same issue. I read on a Reddit forum something about downloading the media fire file instead of the mega pack. So I’m gonna try that when I get home but was hoping you might have some input

Still works but I was wondering if anyone found a way to change the mod folder. The .ini folder doesn't seem to find it when you put in a new mods folder location. And I am running out of space

It still works the same for me lol. I forgot to say that you have to start the game at least once for all the folders to get created by the game

It may be better to just load all your files from your pc onto an ssd and put that in your steam deck. Much easier process

I think it might be an issue with extracting the mods from the zip file via an app such as winrar. I can’t get winrar to work properly on deck so the mods will not work for me either.
