MX-K2 CW Keyer - $10 Bargain!

My transceiver has no built in keyer. I saw some use of these and found it for under $10 and checked it out. It keys, has some memory, and includes a tune command. I’m happy.

The speed can be adjusted. Not sure if character weight or spacing can be adjusted. There are some video and manuals, but for me being able to adjust speed is a far as I need to go.

Thanks for the video. Does MX K2 support Iambic keys i.e, squeeze typing.

Mine run as Iambic B. Yes. Menu is limited so I do not know if Iambic A is possible, but squeexe keying in B works for me.

I'm not sure how to help with that symptom. I've found that the keyer does freeze up some times and I have to disconnect the battery to reset it.

I want to plug into my laptop mic jack to practice online but I don't hear my key.... hmm

Yup that won't work. this doesn't generate and pass on a tone. The best thing I've found is people taking really cheap mice and wiring up their key across the left click. Thought I don't know if this works with iambic keyers or not. I'm also looking into how to do this. I'll come back if I do find a method that works
