Like your work - because "sound" is so subjective - i always rely on the data to make sure that the amp meets a baseline standard - from there one can always EQ to your own ears If you looking for a next project - try the Lusya Symasym5-3 . I tested it at thd 0.0035% to 0.008% at 95W using a regulated 45V power supply

After listening to my music and movies through this little amplifier for a week or so, I can say hand on heart it is quite good, especially when the price is considered. I would be worried about using with a heat-sink the same size or smaller than I am using in this video at 42V. At 25V and listening to music etc the heat-sink I use is fine. In regards to heat-sinks, bigger is better.

Well yes, that's right! 🤔 A bigger radiator moves more heat away from the big transistors. (D1047) So yes you are right. I learnt the hard way. 😆

This amplifier was one of the first I built on my channel some 5 years ago. It does run warm on QI but never runs away. I did try lowering the QI but you can see a few crossover spikes if you do. Your sinks are a little small but probably OK for 8 ohm music. 4 ohms is another matter, you will almost double the power. An amazing amplifier for so little money but of course it's all the extra bits that costs. Transformer, rectifier block, protection, heatsink etc. The L12/2 sounds somewhat better, more detail, dynamic range, DEEP bass but it costs more.

My heatsinks on this one could do with being better, although I do have a 60watt per channel that does very well with them. One of the channels runs hotter than the other. I did demonstrate in a video but edited the temp output out, my bad. I will have to show that and check and see whats wrong. I've been seasonal working and I'm back now to continue with the audio amp series. The L12-2 is the amp I have been using for the last month or two. I agree better dynamics and bass and a good choice for us DIYers. Just a quick video on another amp circuit before that one.

It's nice to see a kit deliver on the promised wattage. That seems like a really good kit in numbers AND ear tests. I'm keen to see the enclosure you choose. Great video series Elecifun. Thanks so much for your efforts. Cheers mate.🍻

It does have the wattage given the right voltage.. more watts out than voltage in is a good show. I like the sound but not sure its the best so far within the amps I've built. I have another kit coming which looking at square wave output... let's put it this way, it looks good and I can't wait to build and listen to it.

I'm with you as far as power goes. In most average size rooms 20-30watts is sufficient. It's nice to run a 100w amp at those wattages.

Hey Dude ! I'm thinking of going straight into buying an 800W Class A amp ! Do you think it's a bit too ambitious considering my level of knowledge? 🤔 😂 AIYIMA are offering this amp which cost $166 AUD. Maybe I'm wiser to start out with something smaller. 🤔

@@Elecifun What ! How bad??? 🤔 😄 It interesting that you should say that because that's what I was reading last night. Something about power efficiency. I've always wanted a really nice and yeah powerful hifi system like I listen to decades ago. My mate created this great hifi system which was 100W per channel into 4 ohms. In those days I didn't appreciate or understand the significance of 8ohms vs 4ohms. I read a few weeks ago that 8 ohm speakers apparently sound better than 4 ohms speakers or that's what the article seem to suggest. Well what should I be going for sir? 😄😃🤔 An A/B class amp?

@@Elecifun oh incidentally I just bought a new Rigol benchtop power supply sir! 😀 I should have it in a week. I noticed that you bridged your two channels into one which is interesting.🤔

@@Elecifun I was thinking of building a bigger system like maybe 18" woofers but the price is maybe too high. It's not just the price of the speakers it's the price of the amps to run the speakers as you already know. So I've downsized the speakers to 10" bass, 5" mids, and 1"tweeter. Still even these are going to be expensive and require quite a bit of power to drive them. The box is around 1 metres tall. Would you be interested in building them sir? 🤔😀

@@Elecifun Okay, so you have three amps right? The NAD, and AIYIMA and the TD7294 right? Well maybe you could get one. The gold chassis would look nice, or silver or maybe the black one still depends on your finances. You don't want your misses chewing your ear off. 😄

I have ESP 3A, MX50-SE, Quad405-1, Quad405-2, LM1875, TDA7294, NAIM NAP250 and L12-2(on its way) power amps. A few pre-amps including two NAD and two tube. Not sure which I like best, still building some and testing incomplete.
