Great video. B&O Tv's are amazing. I live in Denmark and they are produced here, so our Facebook market and other market places are floating with them. For EU retro players who want to be able to show 60 HZ RGB, i would recommend the B&O MX4200 21 inch. The older version MX4000 can only show 50 HZ. Also if you are going bigger, the MX7000 is a 28" that can show both 50 and 60 HZ with RGB Scart. Really amazing tv's.

@JorisKeijser Жыл бұрын
These televisions do not use any aluminium though, except for the remotes. Also some pretty heavy leaning onto the brand, as it's all just standard Philips hardware but with proprietary BS software and connections. I also found out about some some pretty sneaky stuff related to audio, where if you connect B&O speakers through the PowerLink connections, once you disconnect those, suddenly the "loudness" option will be simply removed from the settings, which is done to give people the impression that they really need to have B&O audio connected because "it gave such a boost in audio compared to just the TV alone". This happened to me on the MX 4000, 4200, 7000 and 8000. I hate brands like this overall, even though it gives some decent performance. You'd be better off just going for a nice Philips CRT, unless for looks which is subjective considering the different easthetics.

B&O is one of those brands that you don't see very often. I know they used to have a presence in the USA because they were featured in one of those zombie films where everyone got trapped in a shopping mall (yeah, I know that doesn't help narrow the list down much). I myself use and resell CRTs to other gamers. The largest and best crt I have is a Sony Trinitron KV-36FV27. It has the best geometry and nice thick scanlines.
@lovemadeinjapan24 күн бұрын
That surprised me, as in my collection a small 14" FD Sony has the best image of all. But I prefer it as the scanlines do blend a little, so the blur between pixels is in 2 directions, and the phosphor pitch is not that much smaller than a single pixel.

Do you have any pics of Bang & Olufsen TVs from the late 80s and early 90s? I am writing a children’s book that takes place in the summer of 1992, and while I’m sure many countries will understand the main family’s living room setup consisting of a Sony Trinitron TV with a Panasonic VCR connected to it, I’d have to change that for some other countries. For example: a Korean language version could have a Goldstar TV and a Samsung VCR, both the TV and VCR being Grundig in the German language version, Phillips in the Dutch version and Bang & Olufsen in the Danish language version!

I've got the MX4000, what fine TV's the B&O's are! I do Tate the screen and it stands up pretty well on its side. You do have to power off, rotate and then power back on with 10 mins in-between each rotation. On your B&O do you get a slight moiré on the sides near the edges on the sides left and right of the curve? It might be because of the convex screen? I couldn't imagine rotating the MX6000, that would give you backache! The remote feels sturdy and is heavy, but does use quite a few batteries. Also the MisTer looks sweet with a RGB Scart cable, the screen is so clear.

@@blutryforce762 that's nice, but for me it's both cheaper and easier to buy a bulk crate of 7.62x39 or AK from an army stock than this scaler you've texted me😖😖😖

@@JustPeasant I assume you're talking about the 5x right? Joining the mail list on the website can let you know when they're in stock and they're not like GPUs, where they are blink and you miss it. Though admittedly it is on the pricey side. I love CRTs though, especially the 13 inchers, I think they are more visually interesting than the bigger silver sets that ruled the late 90s to the mid 2000s, despite only using RF or AV. I recently ordered an 80s solid state and it looks beautiful imo.

The picture is not that sharp compared to my Sony Fv300 from what I saw in this video.
