Used my Fender Blues Jnr and Gibson Les Paul Standard to give these pedals an airing.

Ah yes - memories! Nothing wrong with those pedals. Days of greatness. I still have a ton of ancient pedals and most of them still work. CryBaby, Rat, Flanger, Lift-Up... Now I want to dig them all out.

Fun! This was my basic rig decades ago - Fender Blues Jnr. / Gibson Les Paul (1968 Custom) / MXR Phase 90 and Distortion +. I still have them all but have added a few bits and pieces since 😀

Hawkwind? Maybe it was only an hallucination? 🙂👍

I would also try running the phaser in front of the Distortion pedal. One-knob phasers tend to have a significant volume drop when you turn them on, but this is usually eliminated if it's before the distortion or dirt pedals.

Weird generalisation. The Small Stone certainly has a volume drop but one of the main complaints about the Phase 90 is actually a perceived boost.

@@adamnesbitt11 Really - I don't have the MXR, - I know EVH ran his in front of the amp. I wonder if the volume boost from it helped boost his amp a bit?
