@MXTalkessel Жыл бұрын

I've always heard on the different teams that the rider they're behind or want to win or has the best chance to win, they put all the good parts on their bikes. Have heard this forever.
@MXTalkessel Жыл бұрын
This is in theory. In reality there are many other topics like marketing. Finally all companies want to sell.

Ken’s dad has always complained why Ken wasn’t winning, even way back with Suzuki the first time I remembered him complaining Suzuki wasn’t doing enough, same old broken record. Just after his horrific crash with Honda he just wasn’t the same, up until then Ken was unstoppable, period.
@DumpySkittles Жыл бұрын
So there's something wrong in wanting the best for your son? Pretty sure any good father would do the same if your seeing faults in any factory team
@KosmicHRTRacingTeam Жыл бұрын
Ya. Truth is probably between the 2 extremes. Seems to blame every crash on the bike, yet Ken was also winning on the same exact bike (while being sick even). Part of Ken’s problem is/was his endurance. Why did he have a good enough bike to lead half the race and then all of the sudden the bike starts to drop back? My understanding was Chase went with different suspension and Ken had the option but he didn’t go for it. Then blames the young suspension guy for it not working correctly.
@Ivanoskyao Жыл бұрын
Right we all know that, but have you heard about that saying “squeaky wheel gets the grease”? Plus we all know this has happened with many guys, Carmichael, Reed, Ricky Jonson, Tomac etc etc… Why do you think he went to Yamaha?
@powersportsenthusiast1986 Жыл бұрын
unstoppable? im not sure about that. if you're thinking about 2016 and the beginning of 2017 he was arguably at his best, but still lost the sx title to dungey in 2016 and tomac was on a new bike and fresh from two injured shoulders the same year. in 2017 if roczen had stayed in it, tomac caught fire as he usually did and was easily on his level speed-wise after the first few races. if it wasnt for a couple mechanicals and a mental melt down in the second to last round, tomac would have won that title.... but then you can say dungey wasnt at his best in 2017. see how this sport is? not reading replies

@@KosmicHRTRacingTeam sexton isnt always the greatest at the end of the races either.. so is it endurance? the bike? mental? lets not assume. not reading replies

100% True stuff, this is corporate America, and Japan, INC. And, it's why Chase is leaving Honda at Season's end to go with KTM. Honda has little to no loyalty to riders, and maybe they shouldn't. It's about winning, at all costs. Great to hear the actual reason Kenny needed to move on. And Mr. Roczen entirely correct, Honda would have won the 2022 450 Outdoors championship, had they used Kenny more effectively, hmmm...maybe loyalty can pay off.

These are multi million dollar companies. (All of them) And racing has always been about selling the brand. As racing started as one brand was trying to prove their vehicle was superior to the others because it could do XYZ. It is difficult to think of racers as anything less than an athlete at this point. But their objective with the company is to help them sell their bikes. That is how it started and that is probably how it will stay. It is not this reason why Chase is leaving HRC. Because he will ultimately be doing the same for whatever team he goes to next. That’s just a part of the sport. I believe that Sexton is leaving HRC because of Jett Lawrence. Jett is HRCs brand new shiny toy. Sexton isn’t an idiot. He knows this. He knows that Jett will ultimately be top dog over there. And to be honest I don’t think sexton wants to be second fiddle to Lawrence. I believe he wants to be the top dog and to be honest he deserves it. (What specific benefits being the top dog at a team gets you IDK… but I bet it’s something) The sad truth about Ken Roczen is that 2017 happened. And that unfortunately has ruined the bright potential of Roczens career. And honestly HRC has worked with him every step of the way and I bet that some teams would have cast him out after such a time probably sooner than HRC did. Him not being able to run consistently through an entire Moto on a regular basis. Him struggling to finish a season. All of this has his stock value low. Probably lower than deserved. He is a massively talented rider. And I can’t take that away from him at all. I do wish him the best. And many times I wish that Ken would have tucked his arm at that crash as had he done that his season was still toast but his shoulder and upper arm would have taken the impact and would have had less severe repercussions.
