I'm confused, what exactly are you delaying in terms of the broadcast mix. I've done the delay the PA to the snare all the time but in regards to the broadcast mis, are you delaying the 2 bus out to the broadcast ??

I think it's so that when you add the crowd mics to the broadcast mix, the crowd mics aren't behind everything else. For example, if the snare was hit from the stage, the crowd mic would definitely hear it after the dedicated snare mic. Therefore, you delay the snare mic by however long it takes the acoustic sound to reach the crowd mic so that the impulses get added to the mix at the same time, thereby avoiding hearing the snare twice for each hit. However, I would be careful about where to put this delay. You wouldn't put it right on the input source since I imagine it'll mess with the time alignment already done to the house PA. If you have a dedicated broadcast mix, I imagine it'll be added at the broadcast dedicated input stage (making sure it does not affect the house mix). If you're using a version of your house mix for broadcast, it'll probably be added to the broadcast mix itself, before adding the crowd mics, whatever way you want to do that. FYI, I'm definitely no expert on this. Especially since I didn't even think about time alignment before this video. This is just my understanding of what they discussed and how I think it might be implemented. But I do hope it helped someone else understand the topic better though :)
