Liking the older truck projects. I know you need another build project (not), but you know what would be cool, keeping with the vintage projects you have, would be to build a late style C4 street Corvette canyon racer. '91 to '96 style. That is a really affordable platform to buy, and build. All came stock with formula one suspension, with the flip nose, and are easy to work on. Very light, great power plant. Even better '94 thru '96 with refined Opti. It would be a full circle move too. A lot of us subscribed when you had your early C4 project. Great content as always. Best to the Bulls.

To fix the tailgate, go to the automotive store and get "Morpar Penetrating Fluid" its great stuff. Remove the plastic latch cover and spray the mopar fluid down both hand rods as well is in the latches that are located on the sides of the tailgate. Then hold tailgate in the closed position, while leaning against the end gate pull the handle as if you are trying to open the end gate and push or release handle. Continue to pull and release handle a few times and the tailgate should start functioning properly again. Please like so he sees.

I don’t normally comment. Just fix that latch on the tailgate, get rid of that rust, paint, restore headlights, tail lights, seat. You should honestly make this thing look like showroom quality with your own twists. That would actually be a blast to watch. A lot of kids could buy a truck like this for their first vehicle and realistically turn it into one of the nicest OBS chevys in town. You could be their inspiration. Don’t throw a net tailgate in the back. Lol you could have a certain crowd really wanting to give a lot of money for that truck if you do it right. And that’s a perfect platform. Good job man!! I’m excited about this one. I’d kill to have a showroom condition OBS 4x4 Chevy.

I don't believe Mike knows what the term "Resto-Mod" truly means. So unfortunately I don't think you'll see a late model engine and suspension swap, which is the heart of all resto-mod projects. It would have been nice to see an LS Swap, hooked to a TREMEC TKO 5-Speed, or Magnum 6-Speed, then completely do over the suspension with nice drop and Hotchkiss suspension for road handling. And finish it off with a hot set of road wheels and tires.

you want loud mike? long tube headers with high flow cats. make sure you have the 02 bungs welded in or included. left side out the left and right out the right. I'd go with a 6" suspension lift and a 3" body lift, stuff some 37'S under it atleast 12.5" wide. is it a 350?

if it is, do a few engine mods such as cam, lifters, etc... needs power to push the bigger tires, and look for a new tranny. that 700r4 not gonna hold up lol

Had same issue with my 97 tailgate. The wires running from the side to the latch just got old and twisted. It was an easy fix
