Fab video Gabby...love the animation! but obviously the best bit is seeing you and Hobbs on screen!! Love at first stitch was my first venture into sewing clothes and I now just adore Tilly - she has made the world of dressmaking accessible to everyone! xx

Gabby...thank you for all of the inspiring book recommendations...I agree, Tilly's book, as well as the Gertie books are fantastic! But naughty you have tempted me with some "new-to-me" titles to add to my personal sewing library. I think that this "recommendation" format video was the perfect use of the "stop motion" application and you did it brilliantly! Enjoy your weekend!

That stop motion was amazing! I did a teeny tiny bit of stop motion at the start of video aaaages ago and even a few seconds took forever, so I can only imagine how much time you put into this. It was a fun video and I enjoyed having a flip through your favourite sewing books.

Such a great & helpful video. I recently bought Love at First Stitch (and The Colette Sewing Guide by Sarai Mitnick) and today picked up Gertie's first book from the library, as well as a book all about handsewing. Excited to seek out these others.

Hi Gabby. I bought a copy of Tilly's book after you mentioned it was one of your favourites in an earlier Q&A video. Really enjoying working my way through the book so thank you for that recommendation. also, love your hair at the moment. Very Sia-esque but in a more practical and chic kind of way (I promise I mean that as a compliment! You look gorgeous). I am going to have a search and see if I can get my hands on a copy of that swatch book. it looks so helpful! Lovely video. The stop motion is very cute but it would have been just as good if it was only for a minute introducing the books rather than the entire video. Hope you have a great weekend :-)

Oh thanks Gabby! I've been sewing for 20-odd years and never really gotten to grips with the different fabrics. I'm terrible at either sticking with what I know, OR going 'that looks pretty' and then regretting my fabric choice down the line. I've been toying with making my own file of fabric samples and information for years, but it's always one of those projects that constantly gets pushed to the bottom of the list. I'm going to invest in the Fabrics for Fashion book now and save myself a lot of trouble. Why did it not occur to me that someone else might have already done all the hard work? Also, the Japanese books look very interesting!

Hi Gabby. Only discovered you yesterday and am completely hooked (excuse the pun).... I have owned a sewing machine for 2 years and have never taken it out of the box..... your video has inspired me to start sewing but I don't know how! Can you recommend a book for a COMPLETE novice with absolutely no idea how to even put thread on a machine. Do you do any online courses??? Please help me - I think your channel is the best - Claire and Noodles (my rather old and grumpy cat) x x x
@sewloulouloop50418 жыл бұрын
The Love at First Stitch book by Tilly - shows you everything from how to thread the machine etc.

I've just enrolled on a Learn Dressmaking in a Day, inspired by you and the Fashion on a Ration exhibition at the Imperial War Museum North. One teeny tiny hiccup, from this vlog onwards, I can't Chrome cast your vlog without it "stuttering". I'm not techy, so I don't know how to resolve it. But thank you so much 😊

Hi darling, you know I LOVE your Vlog!! ummm...can I say that the buttons and things going around the books made it hard to focus on the books themselves and I had to look away and listen sometimes as it was too much for me to look at, kind of a bit motion sick (sorry)...maby less is more with the stop motion videos as without the extra distractions of the buttons it's great....just my two cents worth... much love as always :)

I really liked the stop motion intro, but to watch the whole video, I got a little motion sick. I had to close my eyes and just listen.:( Sorry!
