My mother inlaw is dead. I'm not ever wanting to see her again. OMG she was a terrible woman. She once belittled me for wanting to return a big box of food that a woman left after moving out of the house I had just purchased from her. She had three small children and had sold the house to me because she had lost her husband. My mother inlaw called me a fool for calling her to tell her she left the packed box full of groceries. The people in her congregation thought she was such a nice person. If only they had known her for what she was. I'm no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I haven't joined any religious group. I'm free of all of that stuff and I'm glad to know I'm not obligated to be stuck with them (JWs) for eternity. All I know is I'm free and I'm happy. I've never looked back. I'm living the rest of my life with a few goals to look forward to. I'm traveling, setting my life in order for retirement. I'm a little late on that, but I like the challenge of accomplishment. It feels good to have a say so in my own life.

The child in class not signing a birthday card was triggering for me as a "walk-in" JW as a 20-year old adult in 1992. Shortly thereafter I took a "stand" on Christmas and when my Father was sending out Christmas cards to family and friends also signing it with my name on it and I insisted not participating, he literally cut out my name that he had signed on the card and mailed out the cards with the cutout. My Father was so livid about me simply not wanting to acknowledge others to have a nice holiday. In December of 2016 when I was still doing "Cart Work" and asleep with the exception of the growing child abuse awareness problem. So I asked a local elder I was doing cart work with how we should deal with Christmas greetings as people were walking by saying "Merry Christmas". This guy was a missionary in Zimbabwe for 12 years and is a 54-year-old elder now here in Wisconsin and he tells me "Dave, it's just a greeting" after I explained to him in my Chicago JW congregation it was treated as though saying "Merry Christmas" was a Judicial Committee offense worthy of Reproof or disfellowship for "going along with paganism". Ridiculous. Glad I am wide awake here two years later no longer wasting time or wasting my life at a cart promoting watchtower propaganda!
@holnrew6 жыл бұрын
It's strange, growing up as a JW I had no idea who the men behind the curtain were. They were kind of mysterious and holy. Now they're in all these videos and highly visible, I can see they're just blokes who don't seem particularly bright, and have lead very insulated lives. I don't know how anybody can watch this stuff and not see past them (especially Lett and Morris).

I've asked my sister about this many times, she never has a good answer, but then again, she's mentally unstable as it is. As a matter of fact, 2 days ago, she got in my face, screamed I was Satan, punched and kicked the storm door and all because I asked her not to go wake up my 89 year old mom who is gravely ill. I thank my lucky stars every day that at 13, when a JW tried to turn me, I was able to read through the pamphlets and see the hypocrisy being spewed This is nothing more then a cult, scary really.

You can find the Broadcast videos that illustrate the proper kinds of things to pray for. It's very simple when you pray to find a roof leak; according to the video God will answer that prayer. I remember that once in my congreation (I was 6 years old or less) this guy took a banana, he peeled it a little and started carving it with a small fork to illustrate how much damage Satan can do if we open him a little slot. He made it while he was giving his talk. Then, by the end of his speech, he peeled the whole banana, it broked and fell to the floor. Hence, you will be broken, eaten, destroyed by Satan from the inside to the outside little by little. Everyone clapped at him and some even stood up. I laughed so hard to the whole thing...and of course, as you can imagine...I got "disciplined" when I got home. My dad hit me with his leather belt specially hanged for "discipline" at our house. After that, we went on the haunting of Satan´s small fork of influence at home. Super Mario Bross 3 went to garbage as result, since all the kings at the end of the game stages were turned to insects or animals by magic, and Mario´s task was to find a magic wand to undo the spell. We used to play it with dad when we got the Nintendo console (as a present from grandpa, of course, a present out of any wordly celebrations). It really got us together. I can picture dad, my brother and I playing up to very late at nights when we were on vacation time, laughing and passing the controller by turns, screaming when we were finally able to pass a difficult zone or when we discovered a trick. My mom was not very good at playing, but she was there screaming with us as well, and of course, she will suddenly disconnect the console when she thought it was enough, like a normal mom would. Now it had to be thrown away because...yeah...Satan's little poison was preventing my dad to get a job that can provide for us, we were broke because of a game...sure...My parents were fighting all the time because of it too, not because they only knew each other for like three months before my mom got accidentaly pregnant with me, and they didn`t plan to have my brother so soon either. We didn´t have a decent house to live, we were all crowded in this little room, with mould in the kitchen, and a shared bathroom which shower wasn't allowed to be used on Sundays (because it was meeting day and no one should do other than study Watchtower magazine and prepare comments for the service. It was not allowed to wash clothes on the yard either), in this old ugly house full of old people that used to throw their feces to the careless garden because they were so old and lonely that they didn't even realize what they were doing anymore (the landlord was a witness, of course, renting to other faith siblings), forced to play with the only Jehova´s witness kid around, which was a spoiled and unbearable boy that broke the few toys we could afford...ALL OF THIS WAS A RESULT OF MAGIC SATAN`S GAME! My father said he was as sad as us...but...this game was "grieving the spirit of god" from our lives...so we had to be good witness and make Jehova happy, 'cause, who wants to make him sad, right? It went away. I can remember my father´s face that moment, like if he was a martyr dying for Jehova... This triggers me so bad...I can't hold this feelings, really. Not to mention the "Don't be sad we kicked grandma out of the house because she dared to bring a birthday cake for you, we can have a party any day with no reason at all...this makes Jehova happy, you don't need a special day, your not special or worth of attention more than our god, and your grandma is a catholic bad association bicth,". The: "What would happen if Armaggedon comes and you're at the university" or the "You cannot be friends with that girl your age that pretends to teach you how to play the piano, because she's wordly. You are only allowed to associate with this teen girl that gives you a biblle study and is the elder's daughter. It doesn't matter that she goes to the bathroom with her wordly boyfriend to pass a good half an hour there. She says you can play with her dolls, use her perfumes and you're not forced to read that boring fucsia cover book talking about Jesus as long as you don't say anything". True was that grandma payed for our rent at least 11 of the 12 months of the year, because most of the jobs my dad was offered as a man with no university education were not appropiate for a christian, and mom could not get a job cause...she had to be under her husband authority. My neighboor was a nice well behaved girl who had no brothers and sisters and so no other kids to play, so she asked me if I could be her friend in exchange of piano lessons. The elder's daughter got pregnant at 17, her father was disfellowshipped because of his bad attitude, then he divorced her wife and married a girl 20 years younger. I left the organization when I was 14, I went to unversity later, got my diploma, and when I was able to understand my brainwashed condition, I realized that a Satan's magic game brought our family together, while the Jehova's true god sick organization tore us apart with its banana's and bread's illustrations. My parents are divorced these days, in case you were wondering. My mom migrated to work as a maid to Spain because we had no food or place to live, we kids were all grown and grandma was too old to keep providing for us. My dad reacted by becoming an alcoholic depressed man. He attempted suicide twice, and when we asked why he made such thing, he said that since he lost his wife, his family, he wasn't a man enough to please god, and that he didn't deserve god's mercy anymore...he said he was going to be destroyed at Armaggedon and never resurrected anyway, so he was just speeding up the process. Seriously... Fuck this Watchtower bullshit! I'm a poisoned bread... LOL!

It’s so despicable to go with a religion that dwells with more on shunning and less with unconditional love with one another, especially to their own family. The emphasis is more of separation and less on unity and togetherness. After all , an unconditional love ❤️ should always prevail. This belief of shunning is producing a lot of broken families. It’s selfish and cruel. What kind of paradise where you be?

I'm not sure where the speakers date of this practice beginning in 1981 or 1984 came from? It was always the a form of punishment in any congregations I had attended and continues to this day. I left the religion when I was 22, never looking back. JW's is just another CULT for men who get off on POWER and self righteousness.

I had no idea what JW was about (well, vaguely) until the last couple of decades. However, as a teenager in the 60's, I began to read the bible - not just what was suggested in (baptist) church - but from front to back. The description of the relationship between men and women, the blaming of woman (Eve) for the downfall of "man," the rules of how to treat women and pass them from father to husband as property and barely considered as even second-class humans, made me so disgusted it laid the foundation for my eventually turn to atheism. So we have a young JW-raised kid pressured to sign a birthday card for a kid who has cancer - and if he signs, it’s tantamount to worshipping the golden calf condemned in Scripture. Stupendously baseless and daft comparison. That this goes down so seriously with JWs as spiritual food at the proper time - or at least those who bother to watch - is evidence of dulled-down brains. You’re right- the addition of the JW-raised kid preaching to the kid with cancer is unspeakably offensive. Where were the boy’s parents? Did they know the kid visiting their son was preaching to him? Oh they keep it lovey-doveyvabout ”paradise” but how would JW parents react if their son had cancer and one of his school mates sneakily started to preach his religion to the JW-raised kid? Would they be okay about it?

My dad is an active ministerial servant in our congregation. He died last December from stroke.. but before that, he would always mention how problematic the congregation is.. The root is the corruption of the Elder and his wife who is a former Circuit Overseer and now serving as a Special Pioneer.. The wife is also a vulgar foul mouthed woman who would always cAuse trouble to members.. My dad and the other elder sought the help of the current Circuit overseer to solve the worsening problem in the congregation.. But the CO took side with the corrupt elder.. and advised everyone of them to just cover whatever misunderstanding and mistakes committed by the elder with love.. The result?? My dad even after his death was accused of guilt by the wife and the elder. They wouldnt admit to all the accusations despite them being unable to explain their sides. My question is, the CO acknowledged the wrongdoing the elder may have commited but he came up to a decision to just cover it with love. Why cant they do that to my anyone else? For ordinary members? They would get shunned by just attending a party but for a corruption in the congregation, and serious scandals they are too forgiving? I cant just understand.. I am no apostate, nor an atheist, I love Jehovah but i just could not understand how do this things happen.. Sorry for my english! Hope u understand me..
