This is such a good video!!!! I've self diagnosed myself with fungal acne after the products my dermatologist was prescribing me weren't working so I decided to do research on my own. I started building a new skin care routine and tossed all the products I was using back then and there was a noticeable improvement in my skin texture. However I'm still looking for sunscreen that doesn't break me out. I was thinking about getting the Soo boo ji as it a FA safe and it's aimed for combination skin and my switches from combo to super oily depending on the weather so glad I saw this video cause I couldn't find reviews that showed the texture and how it's absorbed. I think it's gonna be too heavy for my skin but the Japanese ones looks nice! I was thinking on getting the Wellage hyaluronic sun gel because how light it looks.

@@AllisonCorinne it seems it's very hydrating and from another review it seems it shares the same ingredients as the labiotte uv veil moisture sun essence but unfortunately that one has sunflower oil. I've used some skincare products that weren't completely FA safe and my skin didn't react to it but I'm not sure if I wanna risk it with the sunflower oil 😬

@@AllisonCorinne it was too much for my oily skin in summer but it performs well in winter even though it's still quite hydrating for my skin in winter. I guess I have a really oily skin lol. I was wondering if you had any problems with glycerin in the ingredients of products. I noticed pages like skincarisma mark glycerin as fungal acne safe but I also read it can cause FA? Right now none of my products have glycerin in it and my FA is under control so I was worried it can bring it back ? 🤔

I don't think I've personally had problems with glycerin - I read that it can be in high concentrations. I'd just recommend trying to reintroduce it slowly?

I finally managed to make a complete FA safe routine and am planning to buy the products soon! But I've still been unable to find a body lotion that's fungal acne safe, since I also have FA on my chest :( I even checked DIY recipes but they all use not safe oils ohgod. I'll definitely check the recommended sunscreens out tho! I do live in a colder country so I never thought I needed one, however since I'm planning to use a BHA serum it's a must have~ Great video

I’m so confused! I’ve self diagnosed myself with fungal acne, I’ve read the ‘simple skincare science blog’ and checked a billion products on sezia.co.... but WHY are vanicream and Thayers recommended when Glycerin is one of the top ingredients??! Aren’t we supposed to avoid Glycerin all together? I don’t get why these products are on the “safe” list. I’m trying to overhaul my routine, but it’s sooooo hard with conflicting info 😭😭#helpme

Glycerin has not been proven to promote the growth of malassezia except in large concentrations. Remember that water is the main ingredient in those products. Some people may be more sensitive to glycerin but I personally haven't heard of it being a problem for anyone!

Glycerin is not good for people with more delicate Malassezia conditions, like in my case, glycerin is very bad for me and it was mentioned in the simpleskincarescience blog I also rely on the Sezia page to make sure it's 100% sure.

Glycerin is safe, it's only an issue if it's in the presence of fatty acids which could be in other products of your routine. :-)

I love this video it was so informative!! When you have these bumps and you look at them closely they have no color right? And they don’t have like a head that you can visibly see, however u can pop it by pushing around it really hard and this white thick substance comes out, not liquidy but thick? I just wanna know if you also have that bc that’s what I have, and I’m not sure if this falls under malasezzia. My bumps are super tiny and when I touch my face I can just feel them under my skin

Patience is key! Also don’t forget about anti fungal agents and the Stridex salicylic acid pads really help me combat bumps. I did order the Hada Labo cream off of Amazon, but YMMV I guess. You could also try Asian beauty retailers like Yesstyle or eBay!

I don't know any off the top of my head! But try researching for fungal acne safe physical sunscreens that contain titanium dioxide and zinc oxide since those filters tend to leave more of a white cast.

Crystal Skulls this might be an older comment but the CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 and the Elta Md spf 46 uv clear are fungal acne safe and leave a white cast. The elta md uv clear leaves a more subtle cast but it’s there none the less. I’m extremely pale with slight redness and I like the subtle veil it leaves on my skin. Really helps with redness.

As we all know, people with Malasezzia cannot use cleansing oil to do double cleansing technique right. Or actually we also can use cleansing milk/balm? Thank you. I’ve been binge watching all of your fungal acne videos 😅 Fungal acne is a pain in the ass, to say the least lol. Sooo, I use Benton aloe gel as a moisturizer bc it’s the only thing that doesn’t break me out and it just works for me. It’s my holy grail 🥺 I know it contains arginine and you aren’t supposed to use any oils or vitamins if you’re using a product with arginine. *face palm for buying squalane oil to mix with the aloe on dryer nights* I noticed that the skin aqua moisture milk has arginine as well. Does it contain any other ingredients that could be problematic with the arginine? Also, how do you take off your sunscreen at night? I use Vanicream cleanser and was debating on buying the Garnier micellar water bc it contains no oils/vitamins, but not sure if that would be enough? Sorry for the long comment btw.

Thanks for watching!! ❤️ the Benton aloe gel is so good! I don’t think the skin aqua moisture milk has any oils so it shouldn’t be problematic! When I don’t wear any makeup I just use vanicream to cleanse and I haven’t had any issues with it not being enough to take off the sunscreen!

No it does not, just make sure to always check the ingredients of products. I've seen prodcuts called/ labeled '100% vitamin C', only to see that they mix it with Fa-triggering ingredients. There is, however, a lot of great Vit C skincare products, just make sure to check beforehand. Skincarisma (just google it) is a great website to check quickly :)

The pump on my bottle of Stratia Soft Touch actually broke so I stopped using it -_- I think it's a good AHA for those with sensitive skin because mandelic acid does't penetrate as deeply as things like glycolic acid. I'm currently using the Glow Recipe Pineapple AHA and have been liking that one!

It wouldn't hurt to just try out a FA safe skincare routine and seeing how your skin goes. Skin congestion and fungal acne can look similar so you never know. I'd try using a FA-safe BHA to help with both

It's up to you. Personally I just tested out ketoconazole in my skin using Nizoral and realised it worked. Then I later started switch to a FA safe routine

If you can get the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream where you are, it is great for the price. It has fatty alcohols which may not be completely safe, but it doesn't break me out

No I didn’t notice that! There are people who are sensitive to niacinamide though so it’s possible it’s irritating your skin
