@Seema Munir Suboh you can put aloe vera on your skin and hair. Aside from removing the irritating part of the aloe vera, some people are just sensitive to it. That's why in Korean Skincare they add centella asiatica rather than aloe vera as an ingredient that calms the skin.

As someone who sews a lot, and has done a fair amount of research on fibres and fabrics- just a little bit of info: Silk is a type of fibre. It’s a natural fibre produced by silkworms. So it is not vegan friendly. Satin is a weave. They are not interchangeable terms. You can have silks that are quite rough, because the threads have been woven in a way that leaves a rougher surface. You can also have a satin that is made of a fibre other than silk- usually polyester. Now, I’d never recommend wearing polyester because it’s plastic, and that’s just uncomfortable. It’s also very harmful to the environment, shedding micro plastics that are consumed by pretty much everything. And plastic isn’t good to wear either, especially as I live in a semi-tropical region. Makes for being very sweaty indeed (could you imagine wrapping yourself in plastic wrap during the height of summer?) But if all you need is something that is very smooth to the touch, a poly satin will work just fine. I wouldn’t really recommend a cotton sateen though. It’s a sateen instead of a satin because although it’s woven in a similar way as satin, cotton fibres are very short, so you don’t get quite the same result. The main issue that might come up with a cotton or linen pillowcase (regardless of the weave), is that these fibres are very moisture-wicking. Which makes them amazing to wear, but not so great for keeping your hair as moisturised. Cotton is made from cotton (obviously), and linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant- these are the vegan friendly natural fibres (as opposed to silk and wool). And while linen is by far the best possible fabric to wear in hot or humid conditions, it’s probably the worst for a pillowcase because it *really* wicks moisture. So the best possible option would be a silk satin pillowcase or scarf/bonnet. Not only will it be smooth, it will also be cooler to the touch, which you might prefer if you live in a hot or humid climate. Silk can work to trap heat, but it can also work to keep heat out- I wear silk stockings in both the winter (not that we have much of one here) and in the summer, and I find that especially in the summer, they keep my legs at a nice steady temperature. Poly satin will work just as well to prevent breakage, but may not work as well to regulate the temperature of your head and neck. So if it’s hot where you live, or you tend to get sweaty and hot at night, it’s probably worth the splurge to buy a silk satin pillowcase. Maybe save money by sewing it yourself. It’s literally just three rectangles, and you can use your current pillowcase to get a pattern. It’s likely a lot cheaper to buy a yard of silk satin than it is to buy an already made pillowcase. And it will probably he the easiest sewing project you’ll ever come across. And at the bottom of the list is cotton or linen- a cotton sateen will be smoother, but not as smooth as a silk or poly satin, due to the shortness of cotton fibres. And generally, cotton and linen will wick the moisture out of your hair. So wear those fibres in summer to stay dry and cool and comfy, but they’re not the best for pillowcases. They’re great as bedsheets though, but if you can splurge on silk satin bedsheets... buy that would be a significant splurge and it’s not at all necessary. Cotton and linen are perfectly fine for sheets. Here ends my little fabric-science Ted talk.

@katherinemorelle7115
@katherinemorelle7115 3 жыл бұрын
@@sharroon7574 a few months ago, Abby Cox did a video essay and experiment regarding 18th century period solutions. What she found was using a linen apron to basically gird your loins like a loincloth. And it was extremely comfortable, especially in the summer. Because linen does wick away moisture, it kept her cool and dry the entire day, and because it’s so absorbent, there was no danger of leaks, and she never had to deal with the yucky feeling of feeling anything there. If I still got periods, I think I’d make a pad using a few sheets of linen. Not sure I’d go for a full apron, but it was used back then because women didn’t wear underwear like we do today- so the ties for the apron are what kept it up. I can conform also that wearing stays or a corset during a period can actually help to decrease your pain, which is awesome- it’s having both the back support and the gentle pressure against the belly. Check out the video if you’re interested. But having seen that, I think a soft linen hair towel would work very quickly to dry hair, but I’d be careful to just use it in a squeezing motion (and not rubbing), or as a turban type thing. It’s definitely worth a shot! If you do, there’s a thicker diaper weave linen that would probably be the best possible option, if you can get a hold of it - I think Burnley and Trowbridge in the US sells it. And come back to let me know how it went!

I don’t know about that New Wash🤔. Being a hairstylist that specializes in Vivids, the fact that it didn’t strip any of that blue color in the demo picture is concerning. Vivids only stain the surface of the hair, they don’t have any chemicals to penetrate thru to the cuticle. Seeing that it didn’t remove any color whatsoever, leads me to believe that it doesn’t clean of what’s “sitting” on your hair, excess oils, product buildup, hard water build up, etc. Especially if you wash your hair correctly, only focusing it at the scalp and not scrubbing down thru the ends. Also, just because drugstore shampoos and conditioners have a “normal” pH level, doesn’t mean that they’re not still full of fillers such as silicones and waxes. I’ve seen that as well, that also causes probably the worst buildup on the hair over time.
@SarahIngleOfficial

Do you think PH is more important than the ingredients in the shampoo? Such has sulfates, silicones... etc. I've been trying to avoid certain ingredients that are too harsh or can leave buildup in my hair.

@SarahIngleOfficial 3 жыл бұрын
Because of the growth cycle, hair usually takes about 3 months to fall out after a trigger. If you think the New Wash has something to do with it, certainly stop using it, but you may want to see a doctor or trichologist if you keep losing excessive amounts of hair to determine why.

I stopped washing my hair everyday even though it is almost to my shoulders. How long can I actually go with my hair length before I should wash it again? Is every other day ok?
@madeline569
@madeline569 3 жыл бұрын
For weeing off daily shampoo. Try once every two days for a week first. Then try once every 3 days for a week. Then try once every 4 days, keep going until you find the maximum amount of days without washing for YOUR hair and your scalp. This is the only real way to find out, since everyones hair and genetics is different. For some people it's best to not wash hair for 2 months (my best friend for example) for another person it might be once every 4 days. There is no rule for everyone.

How about talking about products that are affordable for normal people. There are a lot of natural products that people used for generations for hair care that are not as expensive.
@SarahIngleOfficial
@SarahIngleOfficial 3 жыл бұрын
The Hairstory products are definitely pricier, and there are more affordable options, too. One of the shampoos is $6 for 12 oz at Bed Bath and Beyond. Another is $7 for 8 oz or $17 for a massive 31 oz container, which winds up costing less than most DIY shampoos.

Coconut oil changed my hair for life. Warm coconut oil treatments. And a massage while it's all over, preferably upside down helps with blood flow. My hair was so healthy there for allowing it to grow longer while in a healthier state.

Also Garnier starts to be pretty serious when it comes to being environmental friendly. Not perfect yet. But like ... I normally buy just hair products with the officisl european labels that the products are okay for rhe environment and Garnier is the one brand where I'm okay with it not having that label (And some very small brands since the right to use the Label is expensive)

I tried New Wash and found that it is not conditioning enough for my hair. It left it very tangled, so I had to use conditioner on top of it. It also did not cut down the amount I was washing my hair, so it ended up being super pricey. Regular cowashing has been way better for me, which I never thought I would say because I have an oily scalp. But it really has extended my wash by an extra day.

@@milkmilk7151 Sure! After buying this one [1st link] you just have to buy the refill [2nd link]. I don't get the bad reviews, there are people claiming the bar is gone in the blink of an eye because they have long hair, but you should only shampoo your roots; 🤦🏼‍♀️ then you have people saying the bar doesn't lather, but more foam doesn't equal cleaner hair... And also, if you wet the bar before painting your hair with it, it lathers just fine. This is the only shampoo I've tried ever since I was a teenager that makes my hair free from dandruff for at least a day - I'm eventually going to try a DIY scalp scrub to address that, though, so just a heads up that you may need to do the same if you suffer from the same issue. Hope this helps!

I hope you mention in this video that if you use that blowout balm frequently, you will need sulfates to strip it off your hair, otherwise the buildup will block moisture from getting to your hair and it will just dry out and break.
