Great video as always. Really comprehensive look at the right gear and gadgets to look at. The belt is my number one piece of kit. Absolute game changer when I got one of those. Also believe that showing up to Parkrun each week is the best thing a new runner can do. There’s no barrier to entry and after a few weeks you’ll find your group that you “race” against to get better.

The first thing I've spend money to improve my speed was a comfortable pair of shoes that I can run lots of kilometers in one session without having blisters or pinchpoints. Nothing fancy, actually the cheapest option that the Decathlon store had. And the second thing is my Casio STL S300. I bought it used for 10 quid. Just so I can see my lap times and if I'm on or off pace. Everything else that I use is something that I already had before starting running or I made a DIY version of it. Shoes and the watch in combination with tips from running youtubers are the 3 things that contributed the most for my speed.

The book "the incomplete book of running" by Peter Sagal is one of my favorite things. To be fair, Peter Sagal is a really special person to me and I really value his input and opinions. Funny, insightful, gripping, and holy hell, inspirational.

I liked the metrodome tip. Gonna do that
@tg78373 жыл бұрын
I really recommend a metronome. My cadence was really bad, 150-160 for a rather tall runner, it caused quite a lot of small injuries. I started using a metronome and slowly upped the beats per minute until I reached my goal. I never run without it, even during ultra's when cadence isn't always controllable it helps to refocus and get back into correct form.

Loved this video! It's time to buy new books for a mental boost. I'll check those out! And I love Flora Beverly, she's one of the first KZbin channels I subscribed to. She's a plant based runner currently training for an ultra, but she's done marathons, adventure races, boxing matches, and cycling challenges. She's super motivating, and promotes sustainable living without shoving it down your throat.

The most important thing for me are the Nike Alphafly Next % and Adidas Adios Pro 2 shoes, I’ve just had multi level ACDF C5-C7 spinal fusion and having the absolute best, expense no worries as I need the most Cush and responsive shoes I can find. I tried the NB RC Elite 2 and Endorphin Pro 2 but those didn’t make the cut for me, not a super shoe in my experience. Resistance bands are the BEST!!, and now for winter some nice tights, base layers.I only run with my phone, maybe a watch in the near future as my phone will die quickly. But the biggest is my will to get out and run, heal, enjoy all these blessings God has given me. Thank for all your great content, Cheers…🙏

Oh, a side note…I just started running 4 weeks ago and my second test hit in the Alphafly’s my time in the 5K dropped about 3 minutes, I’ll have to check the exact but that is huge and I’m just learning them as they are quite different, they MAKE you run faster and teach you to land on your forefoot, no mid or heel here,lol…amazing technology and so blessed they have given me new life after surgery.

If metronomes drive you mad, I recommend 180bpm playlists on Spotify. Either listen as you run, or just play your favourite songs from the playlists in your head as you run. Most are 90bpm upbeat rock, as obviously 180bpm music is pretty rare!

That one about rolling your Fascia(TFL) is a really controversial one ... Most people won't advise to massage or roll any "fascia" in the body. But you should roll fascia-connected tissues

Best thing I found to help my running is making sure I warm up and cool down properly. Bought a orb ball for rolling. That and learning what a Piriformos was. Kept getting calf problems and didn’t know why until I had a sport massage and realised my buttbcheeks were the problem. 😂😂
