I read the Fury this month and I enjoyed it! There were some parts that felt a bit slow but I did not expect the twist at the end!

Brave New World and The Stranger are two books that I read in school, both are excellent, particularly The Stranger - it's short but thought-provoking and can be read in an afternoon. One book that surpassed my expectations was The Godfather by Mario Puzo. Obviously most have seen the films but the book is great and worth a read, even if you've seen the movies.

Babel is pretty easy to get through. Blame GRRM for these types of titles, "House of Salt and Sorrow". I don;t know how it happened but this is now the 4th video in a couple of weeks where people want to read Frankenstein. I bought an illustrated version myself recently.

oooo good to know!!! i actually don’t mind the cliche fantasy titles but it is funny how they all follow the same nomenclature. i’ve seen frankenstein talked about a lot too! classics are classics for a reason and i think since a lot of writers draw inspiration from classics, readers want to understand context (and just enjoy art) - at least that’s why i’m personally drawn to them 💌💌 thank you for watching!

So many amazing books! I read Little Women for the first time last December and I absolutely adored it. Highly recommend reading it around Christmas time 😌❤️ I read Brave New World in high school and thought it was interesting… I think I need to re-read it now that my brain is fully developed though

I loved Piranesi!! Going into it you have to accept the fact that you will be confused but the fun of the book is about piecing it all together 🤍

Have you considered getting on Storygraph? Id love to follow you on there. Also A House of Salt and Sorrows was way more horror than fantasy to me. I wasn't aware that it was so horror-y when I started or I never would have started it but I liked it well enough to read the sequel. I liked the sequel waaaay more though and have no idea how I feel about a possible third. The Yellow Wallpaper!!! Dont put it off! Its so short and so unbelievably hard-hitting. Its like Frankenstein where there is so much social context of the time to explore. Also Rouge is pronounced roozh, as if you made the sh sound mix with a j. Its another word for the makeup product blush and comes form French

i’ve been considering switching from goodreads to story graph for awhile!!! that makes me even more excited to read a house of salt and sorrow- i even noticed while editing that her name is “anna leigh” which i’m assuming is an edgar allan poe reference. good note on yellow wallpaper- i’ll buy it next time i’m at a bookstore!! that makes sense on rogue- thank you! :) thank you for watching and for this comment!! 💌💌

I have not. I really should check out her book All’s Well as it sounds really good. Btw, Tender Is The Flesh, The Stranger, and Little Women are all books I’d love to read this year too. I loved the Greta Gerwig Little Women adaption. Fun fact: Greta Gerwig is the only director EVER to have their first 3 movies be nominated for Best Picture!

Definitely interested in what you think of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd! I went into it with those same high expectations and thought it was just okay. It did lead me to find the first book of The Dresden Files (fantasy detective series by Jim Butcher), though which I loved. - Billy
