My 1st DIY Speaker Repair - Refoam Cerwin Vegas surround replacement

Did this a couple years ago with a pair of old car speakers. I just used whatever glue I had around, which was Loctite Power Glue flex-something or other. Not the 5 min stuff anyway. Couldn't be arsed to center the coil but it centered itself just fine. I used rubber surrounds instead of foam, which may have helped. Rubber supposedly degrades sound quality, but will last for ages.

Thanks! no problem. I've seen so many nice speaker at thrift stores but the foams are all ways rotten. I can't buy more speakers tho, running out of room lol.

Great!!! Was Aleene glue ok the for the foam attachment... i also have the glue and planning to refoam jbl 128h driver..i used bfore from simply speaker and its kinda wicked...thanks..

Thanks! 👍 The craft glue seems to work well, I found the advise in a forum. Figured I would try it out because it was my first refoam and it's way cheaper.
