Subscribed. Great video. Your videos are relaxing bud. I’m saving for the LSG 30” cabinet smoker. I just bought the pitts & spitts 1250 pellet smoker and I dropped 3k on that one. My wife would kill me for spending another 5k. Looking forward to more of your videos. Keep on smokin

Thank you for subscribing & for your kind remarks. Congrats on the Pitts & Spitts. I know the challenge of trying to get spousal buy-in on acquiring more smokers. Just keep making great BBQ, that will make it easier!

Hey brotha how you doin been watching your videos for some time now i just got an lsg 20x42 just like yours i was wondering where did you get that cover for your smoker?
@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ3 жыл бұрын
I bought my cover direct from LSG. It ain’t cheap & I don’t use it much anymore because it’s a bit of pain taking it on & off.
@The209niner3 жыл бұрын
You ever feel like selling it i would get it off your hands let me know

How did the lower pit gasket get messed up? I have no issues with mine.
@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ9 ай бұрын
LSG sent a replacement gasket to me free of charge.

Great ViD!!! looks really good.... request - could you do review on LSG Cover like to know is it worth $254. how thick is it 3mil or higher? thank you so much.
@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ4 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, thanks for the suggestion. I can tell you in a nutshell that LSG's cover is extremely heavy duty & well made. It's so heavy that I've stopped using it because it's kind of burdensome to repeatedly take on & off. If you really feel that you need a cover, I can say that it will last a very long time. Hope that helps!

I have the EXACT LSG smoker with the same options. I'm having a tough time keeping the temp low enough (225-250) without too much smoke. Did you discover the secret to maintaining a low and slow fire?
@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ4 жыл бұрын
When I try for low & slow, I find that adding water to the chamber helps to moderate the temperature. However, the best thing for me was buying a square metal charcoal basket & using it inside the firebox. I put my charcoal & wood splits in the basket. It helps me maintain a small & more controlled fire which gives me better control over the desired temps.
@The209niner3 жыл бұрын
I ordered the bascket from lone star grills for mine a i find that it keeps the temp really low and at times i want to smoke at 250 or 275 its hard to maintain those higher temps so i guess it really does its job
@Chris-wp3ew3 жыл бұрын
@@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ The secret was very simple... I needed to cut my splits even smaller (about 1/4 of usual).... That was the total solution.... Just keep the splits smaller and tend to the fire more often.
@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ3 жыл бұрын
I agree, smaller splits make a big difference.

The slices looked Amazing Perfect I would have just cooked on the bottom rack and would be done about 1 hour sooner. But great job. Happy 2020 😇🥩
@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ4 жыл бұрын
Thanks.... actually the bottom rack cooks 25-50 degrees cooler than the top in LSG’s 20” offsets. I could have cooked at a hotter temp to speed things up but I wanted to try to stay in the low & slow range.

Backyard SmokeMaster BBQ great Job. I’m so happy you cooked a excellent Prime Rib Dinner for your family. 😇❤️😎

Is it just me or is the smoke coming out of the stack awfully white. I've heard T-Roy cooks mention how it's hard to get clean blue smoke on his 20" also. Have you found this to be true?
@Mickcotton4 жыл бұрын
MrPanthers23 I get very clean Blue Smoke almost invisible on my LSG 20”x42”. It takes about 1 hour to get the coal bed and fire going just perfect. Then it’s easy. I also have a Fan outside of the firebox blowing into it yo keep the fire burning super clean
@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ4 жыл бұрын
It depends on what stage your wood is in. If you just added a split, the smoke will be white. Like Mick said, it takes awhile before your smoke is that perfectly clear or blue. You’re constantly adding/adjusting the wood so you learn not to fixate too much on the color of smoke coming from a stick burner unless it’s really dirty.
