My 1st time REROOTING a BRATZ Doll! (Bratz Doll Transformation)

I’ve been planning on rerooting a doll- I cut off all her hair and I even bought the materials but I’ve just been so lazy to start the process 😂 my worst fear is for her head to start cracking... but I am obsessed with the hair color!! What I love is that you changed her hair but didn't mess with her face. Can I recommend that you get some decent scissors that are sharp and can cut the hair, (yours looked like you were struggling) it will make your life so much easier in the long run. She looks gorgeous though, you should be proud of your work. If you find that there are a lot of bald spots around the partline, you could thatch it, which is basically swapping the hair from one side to another.

Rerooting is definitely one of the hardest things I've done in this hobby but the results truly made it so worth it 💕 ah yes, I did end up separating some strands along the part to cover up the bald spots and it turned out great! Aw hi love!! This was definitely a very grueling process but I am so happy with the results, I'm sure you would do a wonderful job if you tried! I'd recommend trying it with a doll that you don't care for or perhaps have a double of, so that way if it doesn't turn out right or you give up then it's no huge loss! 💝 But I totally suggest you give it a shot and if you have FB or instagram, there are lovely doll communities that can give you advice or help if needed! Beautiful i love the color ... but next time use a flat screwdriver to remove the remains hair after cutting it will be way easier and re heat the head with warm water. it should close the hole to a degree. bratz vinyl head are really good going back to its original form . Other than that i can't wait to see more and you got a new sub

Hi Emily! I personally haven't tried rerooting larger dolls, nor have I seen anyone else do it but I'm sure somebody has! Definitely check around on youtube and see if it's been done, I'm sure it's doable but would probably be a lot tougher with thicker plastic heads and bigger holes. What bag do you use to boil her? I only have bags that would melt in boiling water :(

Hi hun!! I used some regular Ziploc bags but they're the thicker kind, and I didn't have any issues with plastic melting! I'd actually recommend waiting to boil wash the hair until a full 24 hours have passed to ensure that the glue in their scalp dries completely before you do the boil. I only used the plastic bag and did it that way because I was too impatient and I wanted to see the final results without waiting another day for the glue to dry 😅 it worked out for me but I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry 💗 I haven't watched this video in a while so frankly I can't remember if I fully boiled the water before placing her in it or if I just got it hot enough to remove the creases from her hair, which was the goal. So even just really warm, not quite boiled water should do the trick!

How many parts Mod Podge vs Arcrylic do you use??

Hi hun! So I'm super unprofessional and I didn't measure it out 😳🤭 I remember using about a teaspoon or less of mod podge and then about a tablespoon of paint, that would be my best guess for what the measurements were! You don't need a lot of mod podge! 😊 I hope this helped 💗

So sorry for the late response!! 😩🙏 I only tied a knot for the strands that I tucked into that huge hole in her head, all other strands went into her scalp without knots! ☺️ I used size 7 needles 💝 I recommend checking out CustomDollHair on Etsy, she has rerooting tools and needle kits in case you're looking for that 💖 also the hair in her shop is lovely, many different colors/types! Hi there! Thanks for commenting! I'd suggest boiling some water and dipping the head in there for a few minutes to help loosen up the glue, that's usually what helps me 💝 and repeat as many times as necessary until your able to pick out all the glue! I've never had a super glue-y Bratz head before so I'm not sure if this tip will help you but lmk! ☺️💝

I used a tool that I purchased on etsy (from the same shop I ordered the hair) and it worked pretty well but I surely did snap 6+ needles throughout the process so I totally understand your frustration 🥺 I'd recommend checking this one out if you're really struggling with the tool you're using and see if you have better luck! @@lconstable7934 of course! I also never broke that tool, it was pretty sturdy! I broke lots of needles though 🤪 I found that after a few rows of successful hair plugs eventually the needles get worn down and they snap. Overall I totally recommend that tool, as well as the hair I bought from them 💕 best of luck, I'm sure your doll will turn out beautiful! 🥰💖✨

Don't be scared! I know the process looks super intimidating and strenuous but it comes down to patience and dedication ☺️ plus, think of it this way, if the doll's hair is already bad enough then trying a reroot wouldn't actually make things any 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚, even if you messed up, ya know? for Bratz dolls u dont have to put the head on a warm / hot water, just push her head down to the neck and pull it out. it's so easy! and i love the result shes so pretty

Hi hun!! Actually it didn't, the mod podge made it pretty pliable, prevented the acrylic paint from flaking off, and I was still able to root the head easily! I would just stick a thumb tack into the next hole before pushing the hair in (the thumbtack helped widen the holes so that my needle could get in there more easily.) I don't think it made too much of a difference! ☺️
