My 200,000 Mile Lexus ISF Purchase Experience

Hello everyone!
I decided to buy a Lexus IS F and it was near impossible to find one here in Minnesota. Decided to make the trek across the country to buy her and it was the best decision I ever made! Thanks for watching, don't forget to like and sub!

I got mine with 205k on January 2020 and I’m at 220k rn and the only issue I’ve had was a head gasket leak but it’s to be expected with a car with this many miles. Gutted headers, hps intake elbow, xforce exhaust, sector 7 tune. It gaps every NA V8 sedan out right now. It’s only seen the tail lights on a 03 terminator that I had no business running🤣 Scat packs, 5.0 mustangs, e92 M3s, Chevy SS, G8s, you name it.

Nice! I keep telling myself I gotta stop racking up the miles but it’s hard. Haha - that’s one thing I could say, but it’s not meant to be a dedicated “race car” it’s not perfect at any one thing but it’s great at everything.

Congrats man! It’s a heck of a machine, I love mine. That’s definitely the way to go if you can help it, but if it doesn’t already have an LSD I highly recommend it.

@@mannylupercio8194 I don't plan on tracking the car so the premium and *giant markups* on 2010+ models is not worth it. At the end of the day, its an old outdated Lexus after all. Also, 99% of drivers aren't good enough to even make a difference at the track with the diff models or even notice. I was looking for an unabused, unmodified, 1-2 owner example with a proven service record above all else.

That’s risky! I drove from GA to Minnesota on Michelin Pilot Sport 4s’ and that was sketchy in rain and snow for me. It may be the height of the tires that I’m having issues with.

@@mannylupercio8194 yeah drove from Utah to south Carolina and it snowed the whole way, I damn near didnt make, I've talked to some guys that are dropping down to 17s or 18s to gain a taller sidewall

This is such an old video but just to recap, I mentioned all this on other videos but here you go. Price: 15,700 but I had to travel to GA. They're on average 18-20k these days for a very well driven one. Driving Impressions: It's like any other sedan, but if you dropped a V8 in it, or if you've driven a truck with a V8, it's the same addicting sound except it's easier to break the tires free and it picks up speed much faster obv. I currently drive a 5.0 F-150 and it's a similar satisfaction but of course, the ISF gets up there in speed much faster. Something negative to note and commonly mentioned in forums is that the OEM suspension is horrid. It'd be perfect on a race track with totally flat roads but it sucked to go over bumps or pot holes. Newer tires helped this, but it's best to upgrade the suspension if you ever plan to get one. Maintenance: Minimal - most of it was wear and tear. The valley plate had been done previously but that was something expected. Shocks, struts, and some bushings were wearing when I got the car and probably needed it, but it drove fine so I left it and sold it like that. Engine was typical Lexus - ran like brand new and never had any issues with burning or leaking oil. Fuel: Typical V8 except, sometimes it could get as good as 25MPG if you babied it. I think the most I saw was 27MPG but that was under perfect conditions. You won't ever get above 20 with how addicting the car is, though.

That and wear and tear. Bushings can go but it's best to upgrade them anyway. Motor mounts eventually will go but again, it's better to replace them before you need to. Key components like engine, transmission, etc will usually be fine with taking care of it.
