In 2018 I visited a city that I fell in love with and started making a plan to relocate in the summer of 2020. When COVID hit, I thought that would be put off because job hunting during a pandemic was ultimately brought to a halt. But I didn't give up and I met my goal. I relocated in June and love it in my new city.

YOU are what made me smile this year. For some reason after being around “the planner community” for a few years I finally subscribed around the time of your 2020 set up video. You were the only non-IRLfriend person on all my social media who was telling it like it actually was this year without the focus on finding the silver linings and every time you made a video I would realize it was just what I needed. This flip through was a perfect walk down memory ...fire lane?

Something that made me smile this year even tho it’s sad. My father in law is 86years old. His physical and mental health are failing. Which is so sad to watch. However watching my husband, his sister and mom care for him and help him has been so wonderful to how much of a loving family they are.

Friday the 13th in March was my first WFH day. I remember we all were like "See you in a couple weeks!" then our company kept sending weekly updates with a pushed out return to office date, until end of May. Then they basically said it's indefinite lol. A happy thing for this year was trying out embroidery after 2 years of just cross stitching and finding out a- I'm good at it, and b- it's reignited my love to create. My life really didn't change drastically, aside from not being able to travel, so I'm thankful for that.

Best part of 2020....my college kid and my college grad came home, and we all lived together for a bit. I never thought we would all be under the same roof again having family dinners, playing games, and watching movies. My high school kid (while he would never say it) loved having his siblings there too. Also, I want to see all the planners....because, you know, planners.
@Kricket.B4 жыл бұрын
I had 3 of my kids home, too. One did their second year of college online, the high school graduate decided to take a gap year because she's not an online learner (plus she didn't want to pay to go to online college), and the high school boy was happy they were home. He knew he was going to be the only one at home this year and then he wasn't. It's been fun, and exasperating, watching them behave like they did at 10, 11 and 12 years old, with the twist of being 17, 18 and 19 🤪

Thanks Cindy, I just love your honest videos. I was just looking over my year as well, and I realized that we’ve all been so focused on the pandemic and how it has fucked up so much, that it can be hard to realize there were good things too. I loved the community spirit that happened online in March when basically the whole world went into lockdown (I’m from the Netherlands BTW) and so many livestreams started to happen. I made huge progress with my drawing skills. I did attempt some bullet journaling but I haven’t kept that up, but I do have a regular journal that I started on November 1, 2019, and I wrote almost every day, and filled up 3 journals, with encouraging talk to myself, and it has helped me think much more positively towards myself. I’ve met people who helped me so much, were so warm and helped me gain more confidence. I am so fucking done with the pandemic and the (necessary!!) restrictions it brings, I want to do fun things again and have a proper vacation somewhere, but I have done a lot of good for myself this year. And that is worth a lot.

Thanks so much for showing us your 2020 bullet journal! I appreciated the pages with plans, goals, etc. that you didn’t/weren’t able to carry through with because it helps reassure me about my own empty/partially filled pages, etc.! I went months not being able to keep up with planning (the little I had going on because of COVID 😉) because of physical limitations due to a herniated lumbar disk. I am grateful to have had a repair and to be SLOWLY getting back to doing things I used to! I am incredibly grateful to have good health otherwise (at 65), and you remind me of that every time you talk about your own serious health issues! I’m grateful for your videos, and for watching them knowing I can enjoy creative planning again! The kindness of people helping others during this dumpster fire of a year makes me smile. People respecting others by wearing a mask and social distancing makes me smile! I hope you have a wonderful break!! Happy New Year!! 🎊🎉😊

I’m revisiting bullet journaling now because I can’t find what I need. I’m a teacher but I don’t like massive teacher planners. THIS! This is what I need. Monthly spreads and lots of to do lists. Something that made me smile this year was Jazza coming out with his Ultimate Creativity Collection. The amount of passion he had for his work and his sheer excitement when it came to sharing it with the world was just infectious. I was (extremely) fortunate enough to be able to snag the set for myself before it was gone forever. And I look forward to opening the doors for my creativity to flourish even more. Another thing that made me smile though were your videos, Cindy. I felt like your channel and your videos were a place I could go to get some snarky ‘mature’ jokes and that smart ass yet deeply caring attitude from you that I love. You having kept it so freaking legit all year helped me feel less alone. And your lousy smarch banner was great (talk about a fitting title for the month, huh?) but, no. Both you and Jazza made me smile a lot this year Cindy. So, thank you for that 💕 I also paid off the interest on my student debt and was able to keep up on it so like, adulting win right there.

A friend told me she refers to this year as the year 'everyone and their dog died'. My pup of 10 years died in October. My uncles dogs both died, and said friends 2 dogs died. Luckly no one close to me has passed, and thank god my grandmother died the year before covid hit. SO, the good thing that happened to me? A new puppy! She's a mini Australian Shepherd. She'll be 15 lbs full grown and is beautiful! Playful! Smart! and just awesome. She makes me smile so many times during the day. I live on my own in an apartment, so she's just what the dr. ordered! Nah, don't worry about digging up old/abandoned planners. If I want to see one again I can scan through your video list. What made me smile? Well, the biggie personally was getting past a couple of milestones as II worked to lose weight. Originally I was prepping to have knee surgery, but obv that didn't happen this year, but a bonus side effect is that my knee doesn't hurt nearly as badly as it did in January and I've been able to ditch the cane and the temporary handicapped parking sticker, and reduce the Naproxen I have to take from three to one a day. I know I’m the odd one out but life didn’t change much for me in the grand scheme: still have to go to work (lab) and do all the adult things, just didn’t have the social outlet I was used to, so I got creative. Parking lot meet ups, talks through a window, ways to give hugs that weren’t physical hugs but felt like it (cozy gift baskets,etc). In March I started making masks and ramped that up to full sweatshop production in April and May. I made hundreds of lotion bars and handed them out to everyone, even people I didn’t like! Janky hands ruins the whole world. The one really memorable thing was cabin camping: pseudo life changing. Went on the hottest weekend of the year and we had air condition.

Cindy, have you considered putting some items from your bullet journal into their own space? For example, your plans for the fuckery flowers series 2 and 3 seem like they should go into their own notebook with items related to your business.
