Nothing beats having your own space. Awesome studio. How do you like the Zulu compared to the 542?

Great video, How is the the SPL PassEQ treating you? what's your opinion on it? I'm looking to pickup one soon and welcome any and all feedback. thanks in advance
@MIxstarsOnline Жыл бұрын
For almost the same price as the SPL Passed you can get the API 5500 and the MAAG mastering EQ and get a WAAAAAAY better sound. With the API you really don't have to touch the knobs just turn it on and you'll hear the difference and the MAAG has the great black knob for the sub frequencies and it doesn't sound harsh at all and the Air Band is so sweet. Put a Compressor or limiter in between and you've got a great Mastering chain

I'm thinking about the neve 542 on my mix buss.. I have the zulu.. do you think the 542 are better.. thanks in advance
@MIxstarsOnline3 жыл бұрын
You can't lose with either of them they both. sound great and both have plenty of options to sculpt your sound. The Zulu is a much cheaper option than a pair of 542's so Id get that first and see if you like it.

all this stuff is great except the klark teknik gear unfortunately that stuff isn't good and has the potential to hurt your signal more than help. Im not a gear snob trying to make you spend more money but unfortunately the klark teknik isn't worth the money at all. The warm audio version of the pultec a step in the right place (that i see you have already taken ) vs the Klark teknik. Cheers bro and keep up the good work.
@MIxstarsOnline3 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro, the KT's don't do much for the low end I like how they sound for the mid range so I EQ the drum bus midrange with them. I need to do an updated video. I took the warm audio off the kicks and put it on my bass bus. Then I put the Voice of God on my kicks.
