In the day and age of Instagram boards, it’s so weird seeing so much space on a board because you’re not adding pedals for the sake of it. Always loved your sounds and love that there’s other bassists who enjoy experimenting with them

Thanks for the vid Adam! 🎛️🎸 .. one of the best I've heard/seen this year.. would have liked to have heard the Avalanche Run 🙋♂️

Adam! If it's a 12V boss from the older run, it's not 12V for more headroom, it's because it was designed to run on an ACA power supply (unregulated) instead of a PSA (regulated) one. It's a crazy simple mod to fix if you are handy with a soldering iron or have a friend who is (or want to mail it to me to do). You just have to short two terminals (bypassing a diode and resistor) with a piece of wire and it will run - exactly as intended - off of a standard 9V outlet. I've done this mod to my old MIT HM-2 and my PH-1r and had 0 adverse effects.

Yea that makes sense! I remember reading that years ago, but all I could remember is that it made the pedal glitch way less! :)

no compression pedal? some cool pedals for sure

I love this update, very succinct useful! I'm a recovering guitarist finally committing to bass this year and I didn't realize I could use reverb from my Blue Sky with bass without getting lost. Also loved the *hint* of Rime of the Ancient mariner when you were playing with that pedal

Tip to non muddy bass with reverb, play less (let nites ring out) or even play with volume swell. Make sure the reverb has some sort of Low/bass control so you can cut the lows for better lead lines, or push it for bigger pad type swells.

@@AdamAarts on it! Thanks for the help. I designed a chorus pedal with a low pass filter to solve the same issue. It makes the root notes come through, while the higher notes can stay chimey

That even tide rose sounds fantastic! Wish it wasn’t so expensive.

Yea, most of these pedals are on the pricey side. It’s definitely a process to build up the gear over time. But I wouldn’t recommend any of these if they weren’t worth it.

Nice board! I have the CabZone from shiftline, a solution to use the unbalanced output of the preamp with IR cab sims. Just saying!

When I run a single channel I prefer the sound with out a cab sim. If I do dual then one will be clean and the other gets the cab sim treatment! Thanks for the tip!

Yes it’s what you explained in your video I believe. 👍🏻 the Olympic preamp sounds awesome. Can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with next.

Would the Olympic go well with a Mustang strung with La Bella Mustang flats? Or would you recommend something else (also eyeing the RNDI).
@AdamAarts4 жыл бұрын
I’d imagine a Mustang with flats is gonna sound killer. I use a couple passive basses with flats, and those are the ones that benefit more from a preamp like this. It really gives them some power.
@AdamAarts4 жыл бұрын
To add, my active basses I can adjust their EQ, so this tends to be more for cab sim or after the pedal board tone shaping, but for passive basses with no EQ, this helps sculpt that sound really well. It’s my must have for my Star Bass.

@@AdamAarts siiiick! Now you just made me GAS even more. I'm currently looking at them, but they're sold out. Will hang on a bit though - I'm on the point of getting one, but was just wondering about the Mustang and flats with this pedal. Is it susceptible to electric interference/noise?
