Hi hi hi! I hope you're well ✨Today I wanted to just sit down and do a small Knit + Chat with me while we talk about our knitting goals for 2022! Lemme know what are your plans for next year!

My recommendation for designing your own patterns is to piece together techniques you learn from other patterns. For instance, knit the collar of one pattern top down, then do short rows that draw inspiration from another pattern, then switch out the short sleeves for the long sleeves of another pattern, and swap out fisherman's rib for stockinette. It's like that quote, "good artists copy, great artists steal." How do other people approach designing their own patterns?

I just stumbled on your video and really enjoyed hearing about your goals! I am also a knitting KZbinr and need to get better at being consistent in posting videos. I am looking forward to seeing what 2022 brings our way, both in knitting and life!

Awww thank you! You can do it!! Keeping consistent is always a goal for me - one that I rarely complete haha 😂🌹

Happy to subscribe! And I am happy to admit knitting is my yoga. Keeps me grounded and calm. I too use Very Pink Knits a lot to learn new things. I enjoy seeing what other knitters are doing, and have found some wonderful projects that way! (And I knitted along with you on this video, and enjoyed it!)

I love seeing people try on what they made. Top 5 / 10 knits, what was made in a year / season / 10 years. I like seeing what people do, what they are happy about, and if they would change something if they would be do it again. I am finishing my first sweater, so from learning perspective I am interested into how to predict deformation of sweater (for example sleeves becoming longer by time), why should I block my sweater, etc. Best of luck! 🌞

Oooooh great idea! I just did a try on video on all the knits I made in 2021 - I’ll definitely look into all your points! Will defo talk about the importance of blocking, it really forms the garment hahaha ❤️❤️❤️

Don't play down your own skills. You are already an advanced knitter. Your past projects and goals for your knitting show that you already have skills beyond intermediate knitters. You may not be an expert but you are advanced even if you feel you have room to grow in that category. You should feel proud of your hard work and adventurous spirit with your knitting.

Just found this video and I loved it! My knitting goals are to design more patterns myself and to try out more small needle projects!
@TheHarryKnit3 жыл бұрын
Funny enough, my goal is to do big needle projects - my go-to needle size is 3.5mm and it takes so long to finish one piece hahaha 😂

Hello, it's so nice to have found your channel. I think moving forward with the channel, you could talk about, knits you have done, the good and the bad of it all what Skills you have / have not. Knits or crafts for 2022 and perhaps a chat about culture, traditions in Brunei, small snippets. I also prefer and enjoy longer episodes, that I can sit and knit with you. Thank you for sharing your makes and inspirations. Have a wonderful new year ❤️🙏.
