The first year I used the word of the year, it was Portion Control. I not only lost weight as I wanted, but I also rid my life of the negativity, and was on the internet and phone less. It was an amazing accomplishment. My word of the year this year was foundation. I found there were many times I would feel lost, overwhelmed, or a failure and the next minute I would hear or see that word around me. It would remind me that I was going to be okay and that I would survive these things. For 2023 I chose the word "Endurance" I looked at my goals and saw that I was going to have to endure a lot of changes I may not be ready to do. For my health and wellbeing though, I have to do them because if I don't, I may not make it to 2024. That is something I can't let happen. I have to live on and be there for my family and friends.

I tend to set too many goals and then I get overwhelmed so this year I’ve got 3 categories and will focus on one at a time for each category. In the debt pay down category both my husband and I are going to try to pay off our vehicle loans. Our top savings goal is to save $10,000 in our house fund. My top personal goal is to move my body intentionally every day, even if it’s only for ten minutes…but even this one has some steps to it because I need to get some health issues resolved in order to be able to do this better. I really want to prioritize my wellbeing and fun this year so I’m thinking my word should be something that reminds me of this. I’ve done a word of the year before and it’s honestly one of the most impactful things for me!

I agree a word of the year is kinda cheezy sounding, but it's growing on me and this year i'm giving it a go! Our word(s) are fun and maintenance! We had a rough 3 years growing and grieving at the same time and we are at a point we need to have some fun and maintaining what we build. Part of our growth was 2 baby's very close togheter so I totaly relate that I ass well want to get in shape again, I do like working out so it will be FUN ass well 🙂I have to be carefull howevery cause I can not do high impact workouts yet. I have a bike (not peleton) and that is a great workout I can do without leaving the house or hurting myself. Plz stay consistent with your youtube goals, I enjoy them! Great idea to work on the mortgage so soon, it will safe you so much intrest!

So many new changes for your family this last year. I haven't picked a word for the year before, but I like the idea. I think grace would be a good word. I have some goals I'd like to achieve, but I want to make sure I'm kind to myself. My oldest daughter is a teen now, too, so giving her grace working through these challenging hormonal rollercoasters will be a big theme. Thanks for sharing! I enjoy your channel.

Hi Amy, great goals. In 2022 I committed to debt repayment, and I succeeded. (Great feeling!) My theme for 2023 is: 'Crossing the river' because I want to make some fundamental changes, and I'm already preparing the systems to put in place for this to happen.

Great goals ! I always like to set a small number of realistic goals so that I feel more motivated to achieve them. This year I had 2 : get my first ever job (✅) and build an emergency fund (✅) 😌 For next year I have decided on 3 goals : - be more empathetic - ride my exercise bike at least once a week - and send money to retirement every month. As of right now I'm thinking 100 a month so really not much but I mostly want to make saving money for retirement a habit :) in future years I will probably increase that amount Of course it doesn't mean that I won't also save for other things (I plan on creating a house fund this year and I would also like to increase my emergency fund a little) but I prefer to only set 3 goals so that they're always on my mind 😌 Edited to add that I don't know if it works the same in the USA but where I live there is an automatic deduction from your gross pay specifically for retirement. You don't get to refuse, so everybody has to save :) for me it's around 350€ a month so when I say 100 I mean 100 on top of those 350, because the mandatory savings alone are for sure not going to be enough when the time comes)

We also thought our second car was going to be under 10k…and then we went out to take a look. 👀 In this used car market, I’d go out there and take a look - pick a car and price it out. We saw the scariest stuff under 10k. Hope you can find something great!!

We are hopefully going to be buying a car from a family member. It’s not for sure, but that’s why we set our budget at that amount. If that falls through, we will reevaluate the budget.

Magical! Hope it does work out. We saw a car with a rusted fork, food, crumbs and no back door handle priced at 12k - we ended up spending 16.5. But it’s at least something he’ll drive for many years this way. Best of luck in the New Year! I also had a new baby this year - lots of goals missed, but excited for this year!

Our family focus for 2023 is health. I’m thinking we should do a special focus each month, like in january we’ll focus on eating 500 grams vegetables (and fruit) a day etc. I’m really happy about my workout routine, I’ve been working on getting to 3 workouts a week, I almost always get 2 or 3 in. Now when I’ve built the habit I’m going to level up these workouts 💪 in february I’m thinking about doing 2 nights a week without screens and play boardgames or doing something fun together instead. I want to make a plan to pay of our mortgage as well, but I can’t do that quite yet because some of stuff needs to fall into place first. So I’m thinking about goals and hope I’ll get them together before the new year 💫

I'm currently in the process of building a house, which I'm hoping to move into in March, so I'll be making my 'yearly' goals then when I have a better idea of how much money I have to work with. Until then, the goal is just to save as much as possible and only spend on building the house!
