I’m quietly optimistic honestly. Some of the attacking football he’s had us playing in pre season has been brilliant. If we can translate that to the league then I think 7-10th is a very reasonable target. We have however still struggled a little defensively (as we did with De Zerbi) so we’ll have to see whether that improves. But our transfer window so far has been incredible so I’m hopeful it’ll be a good season.

⁠@@chelseaking1735The only thing for me is looking at Chelsea’s 12th finish season I can’t see the current team finishing near that, they have hundred millions in talent and have a manager who is playing a less demanding system than poch had which I think will lead to less injuries. I just wonder more how long it will take for the team to sync with Marescas style because we only saw Chelsea flourish with Poch towards the latter stages and some of the bigger games and we see hints of it in pre season but overall they look awful defensively. I think they will finish the same position as last season.

I would say Onana is a massive loss for Everton. We only won 2/14 matches he started from November, whereas we won 8/15 final games without him. He’s a great player, but I don’t think his sale will negatively affect our progress

Spencer your wrong about wolves. We cleared our FFP issues last year and those sales weren’t required at all. Neto was injured for 60% of the season and as long as we had Cunha and Ait Nouri fit we managed to carry on getting results. It was only when Cunha Hwang and Neto were injured we really struggled. However now we have Guedes back and he looks to be enjoying playing. Also Chiqinhio, Rodrigo Gomes and podence as things stand so we have more depth comparing to last season

Let's hope for West Ham's sake that JLo doesn't alienate most of the locker room like he did for us at Wolves. Funny that O'Neil had zero preseason and the same personnel available but got them playing as a team with a far healthier club atmosphere almost instantly. I like West Ham and wouldn't want to see the club become depressing and negative like Wolves did under Lopetegui. Best of Luck. With the transfer business, yes, we have lost Neto but he played half a season at most for us every year and Kilman isn't a huge miss although I loved the guy. We've singed Larssen, Gomes and Lima who all look very handy alongside a few loans coming back such as Guedes, Chiquinho and (maybe) Podence. Who all look to be doing better under O'Neil. Overall, I think our squad is stronger than a lot of people give us credit for and we can challenge for top half. We were challenging for European football until our injury list grew to be longer than the bible. With the depth issue being sorted and hopefully a new CB before the transfer window shuts, we'll be in a good spot.

@@mainlyyogurt Luke Shaw and Hojlund are only out for a few weeks. Yoro isn’t starting over Martinez and De Ligt. As long as those 2 centre backs stay fit, United will be so much better. Last season they were playing Evans, Casemiro, Kambwala far too much at the back to do anything because of injuries. They added Zirkzee, Amad will play a bigger role, Sancho coming back is another body, Mount was injured last year as well. Young players can get better as well, and they have quite few good young players. Rashford cannot be any worse. They finished 3rd with a worse team than they currently have now.

I swear every prediction I've seen has gotten the Everton situation compelely wrong. No we're not losing Branthwaite, not a chance. And no, losing Onana will not be a big miss, he got dropped at the end of last season and for good reason. Tim Iroegbunam in pre-season alone has impressed more Evertonians than Onana has all season. I think we'll have a boring 12th place finish (just like last year with no points deduction) chance to go higher but idk I think it will be a boring season for us to bring us to the new stadium

I think you gotta be wary of Newcastle, they finished an FA cup loss by Man City away from europe with their main gk out for half the seaon, the most injury hit season in prem history, their marquee signing suspended for 80% of the year, and it felt like a disappointing year for them. A good year this year sees them with over 70 points. which is top 3 most years. Also Chelsea have an upper limit of about 4th, but could really see them at 14th if things go wrong

This season terrifies me as an Arsenal fan. 2 seasons ago we massively overachieved and yes, bottled the league, but no one was expecting a title challenge going into the season. Last season the question was; was it a flash in the pan or are Arsenal really title challengers again? They proved it wasn't a fluke, missing out by 2 points. Now the expectation is; Arsenal should win the league. I worry the pressure will be too much for them to handle but we'll see.

Brighton fan here. My guess is 6/7th. Very hopeful under the new gaffer. Won all 5 preseason games, new fitness staff to fix our injury problems, and incredible transfer business. Our only worry is missing Groß.

just some info on my club wolves, we didn't have to sell neto and Kilman to meet FFP/PSR requirements and certainly weren't next in line for a points deduction, the past 3 years we've not spent much more than we've earned and when they investigated our club last season we were fine

Brighton fan here, to tell you the truth, I would be very pleased with 10th. Some people and fans are maybe doubting what our new manager can do but we always find someone good to replace whoever was there before. We have already made some interesting signing including a young and flashy winger from Newcastle (Jeremy Minteh) who already scored quite a few goals in pre season. So overall, I would be quite happy with tenth considering we were at the bottom of league 2 ten points adrift at Christmas not that long ago!

As a Brighton fan you were spot on with what you said about us. I’m very conflicted, 10th no matter what is an incredible season in the premier league but at the same time, this is the best Brighton team ever and we may not reach these heights again. We have spent big money so far this window, looked promising in preseason and would be disappointed to not challenge for Europe. I’ve only been watching us since the beginning of the Amex era. I’m sure older Brighton fans would have a much different opinion and are delighted just to be in the premier league another year.

As a Brighton fan, 10th is good for us. I don't expect Europe every season but would love to flirt with the possibility. But to be a consistent mid table team with the hope of pushing into the top 10 is amazing for us. Most fans would agree and the fact we don't seem to be worried about relegation at all now is an amazing situation. Would love to have a cup run too, and another trip to Wembley!
