Me too, with the stripes, as I love fun colours. I actually prefer the sleeve of the striped sweater. What did you do for that one that's different from the released pattern? ❤@@meeshyfrazzknits
@meeshyfrazzknits15 күн бұрын
@@corinnewatson3753 At a certain point in the pattern, you go from all-over increases on the raglan to just increases on the front and back. The only difference between the two is that I stopped the sleeve incs on the final pattern I think 2 inc rounds earlier!

Try using a tablespoon of Baking soda washing your white/cream colored socks. They will whiten because it is a natural substance that will break down the oils from your feet. Hope you try it. Also will soften your natural fibers i.e. wools. Ms. Jo

Oh that's a fantastic idea -- I will definitely try that. Thank you!!

Your last two sweaters are so beautiful they make me want to knit them, but I know I don’t tend to wear anything heavier than DK. I knit a cardigan this year in unspun and learned never again. It’s beautiful but the experience was terrible and not enjoyable at all. If I thought I could have frogged it without tossing it in the trash, I would have. My favorite and most worn knits are socks (cause I love sock knitting - it is my happy place) and fingering weight, top down sweaters.

There is also a Robinia light pattern. My friend just knitted it with Isager Merilin which is a fingering weight yarn. That pattern has a 23 sts gauge so I think it´s quite doable with a fingering or sport weight yarn. And it´s not like it´s all stranded knitting but there´s always several rows with just one yarn so it´s not going to be that thick.
@meeshyfrazzknits15 күн бұрын
That's definitely understandable. I will say, the Illimani Amelie I used for the Robinia feels quite light for the weight of the yarn, but definitely get it if you prefer to knit on smaller needles!

This is great advice! The Robinia Light is a really good alternative.

I love Cascade Heritage sock yarn, and it is a superwash. I will be knitting all of my future sock pattern samples in it and also a hand dyed version because it's a great option. My favorite things I knit this year were a handspun Trove sweater and a Traveler Hoodie.
@meeshyfrazzknits17 күн бұрын
It's just such a great sock yarn, I completely agree. The Traveler Hoodie is on my list, it's such a fun looking pattern!

just for the giggles I went to my Ravelry to see my stats. 11 pair of socks, 7 accessories and a baby blanket and 10 garments. Last year I had this idea of knitting a pair of socks a month, it was fun. Now I really want to use all my stash because it is growing without much plan 😢
@meeshyfrazzknits17 күн бұрын
That's fantastic! I just love to see the breakdown at the end of the year. Dealing with leftover stash is always so tricky, I'm in the same boat.

I felt so inspired by your Everyday Attitude Tee because it feels like the perfect project to use leftover yarn. However, when I took a closer look at the pattern page, I realized am not a big fan of the stripes warping upwards around the neckline and I'm not sure how to modify that. 😞
@meeshyfrazzknits17 күн бұрын
It definitely looks much different flay lay than it does when wearing it, but agree that it's an unusual construction for sure.
@heline946915 күн бұрын
I also got inspired of it. I think it might help if the neckband is not pulling the stripes. The sample is knit with 100% linen so that might not give up at all so that might cause that pulling more than knitting with something with some merino content in the yarn. I´m not sure if that has anything to do with it. It is important to have the right amount of stitches picked up for the neckband.

What is the yarn name for the Robina sweater. Great podcast. First time I’ve found you.
