My 2026 Team Canada Olympic Lineup

Two days ago I did the United States so it's time to do Canada!

I think both teams would be very close to your rosters if they were picked today, so it would be interesting to see who unexpectedly blows up and who falls off between now and 26. Few quick Qs- Would you have put Hart on this roster a few weeks ago? Are you going to do Russia (regardless of eligibility it would be cool to see the roster)? I'm enjoying the content and would love to see you do the 6-8 main teams. Other cool hypothetical teams if you don't want 8 vids, or even if you do but I think are fun: a Scandic team of SWE-FIN-NOR, and a Czechoslovakia team (that would be a nasty roster if those nations combined) You've been on fire w the vids, and putting in mad goddamn comment work, keep goddamn grinding my guy!

Great team Mike! Since im a biased habs fan I would have Montembeault as a backup or extra. I also think team Canada people are pretty high on him as he had a .939sv% and a 1.42 GAA over 7 games last tournament at the WC

I like McDavid, Hyman, Marner. And the good thing with tournaments is you can always shuffle lines. McDavid might work well with Hyman who he has chemistry with. But maybe he works even better with an allstar winger and goes to an even higher gear than we thought possible. Never know until you try. But until you know, go with what we do know. And Hyman Mcdavid is known.

@@huntermcquaid687 Suzuki has 10 goals in his last 10 games and he is still improving every year offensively. He's on pace for PPG this year. Plus, he's better defensively than almost every forward on this list. Suzuki is a very solid 200 foot player who plays in all situations from PP to PK to 5v5. He should absolutely be on the team but I assume you didn't know any of this because you're totally clueless

They’ll take Jarry for sure. where’s Letang? I feel like that’s a pretty a big snub from the team. Could make the case that he’s getting older and slowing down but he’s still on pace for 55-60 points this season and is definitely an elite D-man.

Theodore is a top 4 defensemen on this team no doubt. One guy I see left off of everyones rosters is dougie hamilton. I don't get it. I understand he's been hurt all year but I think we all know if him and Hughes were healthy all season long we would've seen that ridiculously skilled Devils powerplay go off again and them both have insane seasons. He's 6'"6, can move, and is skilled. This team needs to be built to beat the US. They can beat any other team with this roster. The US has big strong powerful forwards. Matthews, the Tkachucks etc. I think a guy like dougie is somone they can lean on to match some of that beef. I don't see how he can be left off this team unless he has really poor seasons in 25' and 26'. Imagine Makar Dobson and Hamilton down the right side in your top 6. Scary. Lmk your thoughts.

Hyman - McDavid - Marner MacKinnon - Crosby - Bedard Verhaeghe - Point - Reinhart Stone - Scheifele - Marchessault Extra: Barzal - Marchand The wingers on the bottom 6 are the top wingers from the last cup final. Everyone is leaving Marchessault off their projections, he's only the raining Conn Smythe winner. Barzal could be ahead of Scheifele, but they're both on this team. Lines are as they are for chemistry. Wont be an issue line 1. Line 2 has Crosby and Mac that skate all summer together. Verhaeghe and Reinhart are on the same line w FLD, and same w Stone and Marchessault in VGK. Bedard, Point, Scheifele, and Barzal can all be interchanged, though I don't want Bedard taking faceoffs. Toews - Makar Morrissey - Dobson Theodore - Bouchard Extra: Rielly - Montour Rielly and Montour make this team, even if they don't see the ice. I took Montour over Ekblad and Rielly over Dunn. Montour is only the best Defenseman on the best team in Hockey this year. Rielly is a stud too, though Toronto management have done a piss poor job of getting him a complimentary RD his entire career. His last year playoffs earned him a job on this team. If Makar is ineligible, Ekblad as replacement, and Toews is off the team. Hill Binnington Skinner Goaltending is our Weakness, but we have 2 cup winners on here.

NIck Suzuki? One of the best (DEFFENSIVE not overall) centers this season and also is on pace for 75 points while Horvat is also. Consiering Suzuki is also still developing and has worse linemates and Horvat is aging with better linemates I think there could be an arguement in 2 years. But to be fair if Barzal and Horvat are still on the Isles which they should be they probably go with the two Islanders.

Plus, he's younger and lot better defensively than either of those Islander guys. He's also clutch player. You're wrong if you don't have Suzuki on this team.

Man, Owen Powers looked good in the WC as an 18 year old, not to mention being a gold medal winner. eating up minutes and contributing offensively, on Big Ice. Kinda think he'll be there. We need Makar on our top pairing, everybody admits he had nothing to do with the incident in London, so why would he be punished simply for being on our 2018 World Junior team? We got an arch-criminal for a Prime Minister, and we punish an innocent? If that's the case, let's just clean house at Hockey Canada AGAIN, and boycott these 2026 Olympics ... END-RANT
