My 32 gauge SxS made by Fausti

Italian sideplated boxlock in 32ga. I have waited over a year for this gun and will have to wait a while longer since it has to go back to Italy to get the stock replaced!

Holy cow that’s a beautiful gun. Do they also make 24 gauges? I like my single shots but that’s just a whole new level of cool.

They do make 24 gauges too, I wouldn't mind having one someday but need to get this one ironed out first. There are a number of Italian firearm makers who make inexpensive 24/32 ga single shots, but they have no US importers and it would be pricey to do it yourself! Probably the cheapest way to get ahold of a 24 gauge double is to have Rizzini make you one on their BR110 platform for a little over $2k. Otherwise you gotta scour the used market (you probably know that).

@@pc8649 they actually do make 32 gauge pumps in some euro countries. I’ve seen videos of them on KZbin but have no idea what they’re saying.

It’s a pretty cool gauge, think about it like an overpowered .410. Just wish there were more ammo and reloading options.

That’s a nice gun, similar to my SxS 24 but without hammers. I almost ordered another o/u 32 from Fausti but no better than the performance is with available factory ammo and the unavailability of reloaders or good components to load shells with I just couldn’t find the practicality in my head to spend $3300 for it. My 24s and 32s are just sitting in the safe and I always grab my o/u 28 when I wanna go the small route.

I’ve got loads for 32 gauge up to 3/4 ounce and up to 1 ounce for the 24 gauge, both can be easily fold crimped too. 28 gauge hulls make great extended range 24 gauge wads too. Factory ammo for both gauges are kinda junk and underpowered. The only things keeping them held back is lack of good wads. The 2.5” hulls aren’t a detriment at all.

Unfortunately, looks like I won't be seeing this gun again. Fausti wanted a ridiculous timeline to fix their mistake so I just returned it for my money. Safe to say I won't be dealing with Fausti again, which is a real shame because they do make a nice product. So if you want to sell your 32, let me know ;)

@@theshotgunscientists I’m aware they can be loaded like that I’ve tried loading 32s every which way and when I get into the time consuming frustration of having to cut wads in pieces by hand and weigh out every shells powder and shot and still not get good performance for me it’s pointless. I can’t see wasting a good 28 gauge hull trying to fabricate a make shift wad either, I’d just reload the 28. There is absolutely nothing a 32 (or a 24 for that matter) can do that a 28 can’t do better, if it can’t over the 24 a 20 can. This is why 24s and 32s are obsolete and will never make a comeback, there’s just not a gap there for them to fill. 28 comes from the factory in 1oz and down under 3/4 and they’re good shells, not to mention with a MEC jr I can load a full box in the time it takes to load maybe 2 32s. I’ve torn apart federal shells and RSTs shells and they both use the exact same wad as the ones I got from ballistic products, in my opinion RSTs 9/16 oz are the best bet the full wad is in there and the hulls full pretty much to the end with no fillers so loading them that ways not terrible but it still takes longer. With RSTs loads they’re ok for shooting skeet from a manual thrower just to play around but for me any serious trap shooting or actual hunting I’ll pass.

@@duckodb_4389 I know exactly what you mean. I pretty much only use them for buckshot. They do make really nice buckshot guns. .29 cal #1 buck 10 pellets is a great load for the 24. That’s a 1 ounce load, one of the few things it does have over the 28.

@@pc8649 that’s something else that I didn’t care for, Barbara Fausti told me 7 to 8 months to make the gun so as with most things I figured that would turn into a year. She told me Fausti won’t even make a 24 at all anymore. I’m glad I didn’t do it since I’ve had time to try different things with the ones I have though. I’ll watch for them on these different auctions they pop up once in awhile, if you could find a nice o/u or SxS that way you could at least test it out before you spend a small fortune maybe.
