Loved my speed 3s,got the B12 last week,did a Parkrun and a 5x1 mile repeats session,unreal performance. As a heavier runner at 165lbs the B12 just working better for me. Weight difference not noticeable for me so far, absolute monster of a speed shoe. Late for the party,but got it eventually as you was so hyped about it and yes, just a whole different level . B12 ftw,thx again boss for recommending it and again,epic job in the marathon 🔥👊

Just got the Hoka Mach 6 in wide fitting and it's similar width to the Mach 5, Novablast or Tempus in standard width, very slightly wider than ES3, and much more room than the Triumph 21, which was very tight for me and I returned. At least in my US10 size. I agree with the ES3, and prefer it to my ES2s, so much more versatile

I feel like “speed” is one of those words that means many things to different people. My running background was on the track so I would never have considered threshold to be speed work. I’d suggest perhaps a “tempo” shoe category to cover HM/M pace and an “interval” or “speed” shoe to refer to 5k/10k pace. Just thought I’d chime in as you’ve been discussing various words you’ve banned due to their ambiguity! (Although I do quite like the “super trainer” category 😊)

Thanks for the shoutout on my Adios 8 review. It’s been a great shoe as a daily/tempo trainer. Also, wanted to say that I agree with everything you stated on the Rebel v3 as I used it as my daily/tempo trainer in 2023 as well. Loved that shoe and I prefer to have at least one lower stack option in my rotation to help with my running mechanics and foot strength. Keep up the great content.

Joe's New Balance Outlet has the Rebel V3, 2 for $100 right now. Pretty tempting since my current pair is pretty much done. I really liked using them at the track for intervals too since the track cushion helped keep my legs from getting abused by going hard in a low-ish stacked shoe.

I just bought a pair of Hoka Mach 6 that arrived today in 9.5D. While the length seems okay, they do feel very narrow. I've gone a half size up with other shoes in the past, but found the shift in the heel and rocker was noticeable and not as comfortable. So, my choice here seems to be just bearing with the narrowness and hoping it loosens up a bit during the break in, and if it doesn't loosen up enough, then ending up having to buy another pair a half size up anyway. I've worn Hokas for the past 5-6 years, and they've always been true to size. I always replace the insoles in them as well, which is not even a possibility with these. So, I'm surprised the Mach 6 seems to be sized a bit on the small side, enough that I'm not sure if I should even chance going through a break-in in hopes of them working out in the end.

I'm a bigger runner: 5'11", 190 lbs. The Endorphin Speed 4s work great for me for higher tempo (just set a 10k PB in them) + for long slow runs (just ran a slow HM in them). They work great for me.

Given his review, I was hesitant to buy them. Not sure if he just got a bad pair. I'm 83 miles into the Speed 4s and I only continue to enjoy them. I did a 15 miler in them the other day and they were still comfortable on my feet when I finished.

I'm also 90kg(200lbs) and 1,80m (~ 5 11) and due to some comments, I thought we bottom out the Speed 4 too fast and we would be better of with the Pro 4 oder the Kinvara Pro. And then, that the new Brooks Hyperion Max 2 is better than noth of them, faster than both and better longevity than both. So... I suppose If i didn't have a Superblast (1), I would try out the Hyperion Max 2.

Hey Yowana! I'm a 5-10k Guy who needs a Speed day/Racing shoe with decent durability. Does the Pro 4 have the Pop to keep up or should I wait for something like the Deviate Elite 3 coming out soon which has known to have Great durability?
@supwell6 ай бұрын
Initially I thought the pro 4 was a little too relaxed but as I've put more miles in it I've loved how the ride feels for faster running. It's not as light as something like the Takumi Sen or Cyclone 2 but I think the additional cushion and comfort from the foam and durability from the rubber is worth it. I haven't tried the puma racers yet so can't speak to those

Nice review. What would be your top 3 speed threshold, fast interval repetition shoe for a 5 up to 15km. I am a heel striker and love forward rolling, 178,83 kg so heavy and more muscle then general runner. Also suitable for a flat feet support (I have insole so it has not to be a bunker) and perhaps higher stack or lower stack option. Your daily, cushion or long run top 5-6 shoes I can always use as a 5-15km runner I guess. The difference in long run and daily trainer. Is this long run zone 2/3 and daily training more around threshold but in the green instead of red. recovery cushion is more liss zone 1/2.I found hard to know the difference. Because I think it is the same setup for a 5k as a marathon if we talk about training zone. Interval full max for seconds and rest could we do for every type adaptation work:rest ratio make the difference Thanks mate I love your reviews

I’m late to this video but I was a huge Mach 5 fan (600+ miles across two pairs) and Mach 6 felt weird to me in store. It seemed to be higher stacked in the midfoot to the point I felt like my toes and heel were both less connected to the ground in a standing or walking position. Also I’m curious to know what you think about massive stack shoes after reading Science of Running. I read it a few months ago and it was a reminder of something intuitive - we are training our bodies to adapt to running, part of which includes little muscles and tendons in our feet and ankles. The more the shoe does, the less our legs and feet have to handle themselves. I still use high stack for distance but want to make sure I get some exposure in simpler shoes like Adios, Mach 5, etc to cause those micro adaptations that impact running economy / prevent injury.

Any time I race a hard 5k in a speed shoe I always regret that I don't have a middle to long distance shoe on..I like a 5k speed shoe on a dirt or grass course..definitely not on the street..since I never use a track so the speed shoe category is not used very often..even the rebels don't have the cushioning for a full tilt 5k..what I use the speed shoes for is treadmill moderate speed running..true speed training for me is 200yd all out sprinting as HITs..if I start feeling kinda doggie from long distance racing, the HITs loosen up my hips and quads..I do them on my dirt/grass driveway..200yds all out then 20 secs or so then another rep..it loosens up the legs during a 6 week stretch when I do 5 half marathons on consecutive weekends..the puma velocity and the craft CTM ULTRA are my dirt drive speed shoes..good traction and very stiff foams for sprints..different strokes for different folks..another good long video 🎉🎉

When is the Reebok float zig review coming out
@supwell6 ай бұрын
I passed along my pair in a giveaway. I asked for some insights and this is what he said: "I’ve only put about 25 miles in them as they have been my treadmill recovery run shoes of choice currently. I find the cushion to be similar to the triumph 20, but softer, and the wider base makes it feel more stable, if a bit less nimble. Upper and fit have been just fine and on par with other daily trainers. I do find the laces a bit long so I double knot each time. The zig pattern cutouts in the midsole seemed like a gimmick at first, but I do think they serve a purpose. They allow for just a little bit more compression like the On Cloud shoes, and they feel more flexible up front than the stack would have you believe. My biggest concern however has to be the outsole. It’s a softer compound that allows for good flex and no issues with traction (at least on a treadmill), but I’m noticing a lot of wear in the heel for just 25 miles, especially on treadmill"
