So I did at some point start taking less images and focused on more good quality ones. Well, alI ended up taking about 1000 images more per 12-hour wedding (from 2000 to 3000), with about double amount being good quality compared to before (I used to give out 300-500 images for a 12-hour wedding, and now it's 700-1000 good quality images 😂 and that's after culling 3 times 😂) Also, I actually love the wedding chaos. It makes me calm, forces me to focus

Just wanted to say I've been shooting for many years but only recently understanding the need to not just rush and get as many great shots as possible. I made conscious effort to calm the bride at my last wedding with our pre ceremony photos for 5 mins. We were running late but the bride mentioned about 4 times throughout the day how much it had really calmed her and how much she enjoyed it / how special she had felt. Just wanted to thank you for really highlighting the importance of this.

Lol okay who read the ACOTAR books here??? The wedding scene is all I could think of when you said that the bride isn’t going to do something unpredictable. 😂 (real talk though…I totally agree. I think the wedding days themselves are tiring BUT less stressful than the drive home with the SD cards haha)

I started photography in the film days. I still photograph as if I’m still using film! Put more thought in to the photos you take.

Hi Luke, I'm Griselda. Can you perhaps create a video specific to storytelling? I struggle with that. My photos mostly are medium distanced (not too far, not too close) and a lot of straight on looking at the cameras smiling. Thankfully though, I do give fun prompts (dancing, fake laughing, etc.) so there's a bit of genuine reactions and candid moments. When I search online, most storytelling is for fine art photography. The examples used are landscape and portraits, not many show commercial wedding examples. Can you give tips to create a better storytelling?
