I guess I should share wearing my hair naturally for the past 65 years. Young black women wearing your hair naturally is not new. The black hair natural movement started in the 60s with my generation. Your natural hair will grow twice as long as relaxed hair because you're not stripping it of the proteins and opening up the cuticle. While wearing natural hair just simply keep it moisturized. Don't over manipulate the hair and if you wear your hair loose braid it up at night, and moisturize it with a heavy oil. I usually moisturize my hair with a hundred percent lanolin, and beeswax. At 65 my hair is thick and full. I have never had a problem with losing my hair, or my hair breaking and I don't have any split ends. I would like to add hair grows from the inside not the outside. If you tend to have an unhealthy diet then you may not have healthy hair.

Loove this video! The beginning of your journey was very similar to mine! 😄 Havent had a relaxer since 2016, unofficially transitioned for two years (I had a pixie cut at the time of my last relaxer. At the time of "transitioning" I just wanted to grow my hair out longer and then relax again once I reached chin length) Well durring this period I decided to try to be natrual and if I didnt like it I would just relax my hair. It has been about a year since I said that and I do not plan on going back! I cut my relaxed ends in this past March and I can say that has made things soo much easier! Lol im still struggling sometimes but its honestly a journey. I feel like im learning about this side of me that I never knew before. Learning about this new girl...like everytime I see my fro its literally "Who is shheeee😍😍😍😍". But anyways, cant wait to see where I will be in 5 years! Thank You for sharing. Also, how often do you trim your ends?

Miss GCH Yes it does! I’ve been natural for almost 4 years. I have 4a-c hair and I still get a lot of shrinkage with wash n gos. I’ve been doing twist outs to get my hair a little bigger. My hair had gotten longer done but not really big so I feel like I don’t have enough to show over all this time 🥺. Do you have any tips for that? I’ve tried different hair growth methods.

how did u taje care if your hair in bix brsids or weave u wud leave it in a week n tske it out ir wash yiur hair with braids like deep condition u deep c in your braids how does it work
@HelloGabey6 жыл бұрын
I deep condition my hair before I put them in and after I take them out. I oil my scalp in between as necessary. I leave them in much longer than a week. The longest I've kept them in is about 5 weeks.
@twoladies26296 жыл бұрын
was thiking to stll deep condtion in my braids in the week did u put oils to keep it moisturized srry fir questioning my hair gets dry alote was wondering wat products to put in after drep condition beside jbco lol
@HelloGabey6 жыл бұрын
I don't mind questions 😊 so am I understanding that you want to deep condition your hair with the braids in? Personally, I wouldn't recommend that. It wouldn't really be penetrating your hair and would probably leave a lot of product build up and residue on your hair. I use really any oil I have.. Herbal Oil by Africa's Best, Doo Gro Growth Oil, JBCO is pretty thick (I wouldn't use it daily). The oil is to keep my scalp moisturized so it doesn't itch/dry out/form dandruff.
