This lady speaks thesame Ejagham as my self. If she's from Nfuni, my grade grandfather migrated from there to ossing. Thing is, we need to trace the Origin of the Ejagham people, map it and let our children know their ancestry. As Ejagham migrants proceeded to the British Southern Cameroon from Nigeria, the language change. It sounds different from central Ejagham but the center still holds. We understand each other. By the way i must comment the sisters efforts to teach Ejagham to the diaspora. GREAT job.

Ejagham (pronounced EH ZAH GAH, remembering that we don`t pronounce a hard J in Ejagham) is a language of the Ejagham (aka Keaka) people of Cameroon - a member of Manyu - as well as the Ekoi of Nigeria. I invite you to read some of books written about the Manyu people which distinguishes Banyangs (Upper and Lower - who speak Kenyang), Ejagham and the other cultural groups. This is a great effort to keep the Ejagham language of the Manyu people alive.

To all those who say this is not Ejagham language, I beg to disagree. I am Nigerian Ejagham from Bendeghe Ekiem, yet I understand almost 70% of what this lady is saying. We are all related to the beyangi people. We are blood! It will be "blasphemous" for anyone to say we are not.The linguistic differences may have come about as a result of migration and interaction with other tribes. But these are Ejagham people.Period!

Thank you for your comment sir. You are right, and we know that we need to add text and images to illustrate that. If you browse our other videos on the same KZbin channel, you will realize that we have already done what you are asking, for many other African languages. It's very time consuming and we lack means to accomplish our goal. If you yourself, can contribute in any way, even for contributing for the writing you are mentioning, you are very welcome. Your job is commendable. Keep it on. Your caption is misleading. Ejagham people are not bayangi people. Ejagham people don not stem out of bayangi people. It is disgracefully annoying to say ejagham people are bayangi people. We all are found in manyu division but that doesn't imply that ejagham is bayangi. Ejagham is ejagham and bayangi (boh manyang) remains bayangi. We share cultural similarities does not mean one is the other.

I appreciate all the work you are doing in reviving the Ejagham language but I need to bring a small point of correction. Ejagham is a language spoken by the Ejagham people of the ancient and illustrious Ejagham Kingdom that was the epicenter of the Bantu revolution and not the Bayangi people. The Ejagham Kingdoms historic homeland stretches across parts of cross river states in Nigeria and the parts of the Manyu division in Southern Cameroon. But through migration Ejagham is Spoken in about 27 countries around the world. So to say that Ejagham is the language spoken by the Bayangi people is not just wrong or inaccurate but what is worst it is an unpardonable adulteration of facts and the historic priority of the Ejagham people because the Ejaghams precede the Bayangi people by few centuries and are much larger in size and cultural significance. Furthermore, Ejagham is both the name of the language and the Clan. The Bayangi who also inhabit manyu division in the south west province of Southern Cameroon speak Kenyang which is a completely different and much belated language from Ejagham though it is one which contains some borrowed Ejagham words but Bayangi is most definitely not Ejagham. It is like saying that French is a language spoken by the Italian people. For more information on the history of the Ejagham nation listen to Dr. Sandy Onor the Author of the book entitled Ejagham Nation as he offers a brief summary of his book on the Ejagham nation: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmqUan2Fp82bbNE ; also see the Ejagham Tradition for more information ejaghamtradition.org/
