So glad to hear , as an ex sufferer , you are helping others. I never sought help, back in the 1970s, nobody knew much about eating disorders. I would never trust, or talk to anyone who claims to help annorexics, who hasn't been through it themselves. I had to get through it my own way, away from the fears of puberty, the social changes, and my parents divorce, and it was my Grandmother who helped me. She never forced me to eat, watched me eat , and we always had meals at exactly the same time. I never ate so much til I felt full and uncomfortable, and she would always give me a small portion, and let me help myself to some more. With a settled lifestyle started to recover, but my personality changed and I never had a teenage life, and became very backward with my school work. I'm 68 now, and still suffer the after effects of it, gut problems , food difficulties, but I'm content in my lifestyle, and very fit and healthy for my age.

Amen! It’s so great to see others who recovered and know I belong there too! Recovery is worth it all❤️

Very heart felt and moving share Hanne. It's true that recovery is a journey. For one thing, you don't need motivation to progress along your journey although it's definitely a plus when and if present. I know you fought hard and consistently despite the feelings of wanting to stop. Inspiring to hear your thoughts on recovery...so I thank you for doing what you do. 🙏🏻💓✨

Great video! ❤ could you do a video about dealing with acne during recovery? Im terrified of it and during my recvery I've had some breakouts so it would be helpful if you could give some tips and to reassure me that I'm not alone. ❤

Hi, can I ask you how long it usually takes for my period to return? Since you have been through the experience and are helping others, I know that this matter differs from one person to another, but what is the average and maximum period in which I should see a doctor?
@HanneArtsАй бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question! You’re absolutely right that the timeline for a period to return can vary widely depending on the individual and their specific circumstances. For some, it can take a few months after consistently meeting their body’s energy needs (and, importantly, resting and reducing stress), while for others, it might take longer. In general, if you’ve been working on recovery and haven’t seen any signs of your period returning within 3-6 months, I'd say it’s always a good idea to check in with a healthcare professional. They can help rule out any underlying medical issues and offer more tailored advice. In the meantime, keep working toward nutritional rehabilitation, reducing stress, and healing; your body will take things from there 💛

if you could go back and change how you took a step into recovery to maybe speed up the recovery what would you do I’m desperate for a way out because my whole life has been taken from me and I don’t see hope for things to ever get better and I really want tips on how I can just let go of control over my body and let it gain weight and heal. To me the idea of weight gain is not what is making me nervous it’s the being bloated and having all the weight go to my stomach and I can’t seem to just let go of that fear I also don’t know what to eat and how much and if I’m hungry and if I am hungry what for I just get so stressed and overwhelmed that I resort to the Ed to cope with it. Do you have any tips I just don’t wanna go on like this?
@HanneArtsАй бұрын
What helped me was to remind myself that those symptoms you mention -- the bloating, the discomfort, the initial distention -- is just that: temporary symptoms. They're tough, but they do pass. To help me navigate that period, it was also really helpful to have the right support around me to keep me on track. If you feel like you could use that additional nudge, let's hop onto a free call sometime to see if 1:1 coaching could be the key 🥰 calendly.com/hanne-arts/discovery-call

Hey can you tell what all signs you got before period
@HanneArtsАй бұрын
Hi, great question! Some of the signs I noticed before my period returned included changes in my energy levels, terrible skin as my hormones were trying to figure things out 🫣 (and thankfully now have), and some cramping and bloating. I also noticed changes in my cervical mucus as well as my hunger cues. That said, everyone’s experience is slightly different, and some people might not notice many signs at all before their period comes back. I'd never had a period before in my life, so I didn't attribute these symptoms to anything until I actually got my period (and was very surprised that I did!) The most important thing is to continue meeting your body’s needs and giving it time to heal. It should take things from there 😊

Did you have a therapist or coach?
@HanneArts2 ай бұрын
I did have a life coach for a few months after my 2015 hospital discharge. Such a great way to support me through that transition period 😌
