Nicely done. So your 4-high will be in effect a higher final drive? or lower? I get those confused...so it will be better suited for bigger tires? And still going to go for 4:88? It's cool you didn't (I don't think you did) go with the trendy part time kit. Those really have no effect on mileage and wear especially since the 80 was designed to be full-time 4-wheel drive.

Thanks! So the final drive ratio will be higher, so therefore better for larger tires. I'm leaning towards 4.88 but I want to see how this 10% underdrive feels, I may only want 4.56, but we shall see. Also depends on wether or not I want to try to fit 37" on this, but that might be more than I'll need. Still a lot of testing to do 😂. I've got a few trips planned that I'd like to put on this channel and actually use what I'm building, so there will be a lot of opportunity for testing! No I decided against the part time kit, I didn't really see the benefit over stock, I didn't buy an 80 series for fuel economy 😂.

I'm going to be doing this to my fj80 and was wondering if before you removed the transfer case from the transmission if you initially put the t-case shifter in neutral or not? Good job, btw.

I didn't when it was removed from the trans, but if it fights you on the way out, that may be a good idea. The entire drivetrain was out when I removed the TC so I didn't have many issues there 😂
